First time out of the vault
It seems that the radiation warning symbol is hard to paint. You can spot wrong depictions in many games and other media. For example the Vault dwellers survival guide shows only wrong depictions... all trefoils (radiation signs) are upside down.

Here is the mistake on the game box.

Do you mind this wrong depiction? Did it catch your eye? Should one advise artists to this wrong depiction i.e. the stalker boxart etc.?

Btw. you often can find the radiation symbol in inverted color mode but even then you can see that the sign is upside down.
 
Cool. Thanks for pointing that out. The right depiction catches the eye much more indeed.

Never stopped to think about this.
 
It's odd how having the two "prongs" pointing upwards actually does catch your eye much more than when they face downwards.

I suspect though that so few people actually know that this is incorrect, it doesn't bother them at all.
 
ive always noticed that, but always thought it was more of a design decision (layout of manuals and boxes etc). odd thing w/stalker though, since they used 1000s of photographs of the zone itself.
 
Interesting. But the sign is circular so in getting the point across I don't think it really matters. Except of course that it does catch your eye more because it is an inverted triangle. A form not found in nature.

Oddly enough. POS got it right...

Both are way cool. In fact, radiation trifoil = Cool.

But even the wrong one is better than THIS ONE:

Actually: no, DN didn't get it right. The colours are inverted. You have to look at the colour of the dot in the middle. That's the colour of the whole trefoil. So alas: it's upside down as well.
