also, the point of the topic is not so mch about ho to deal with them, but why WHY oh god WHYYYY did beth take this design decision and, most important, why did obsidian keep it? aaand I hope some modder decide to put radscorpion back in their place ^^
Dunno about you, but that way I have finally a reason to use that armor pearcing amunition from time to time. At least with some weapons.

That scorpions (and most other enemies) should not eat rockets like penuts is true though. That I can agree with. But ... isnt there also a high velocity rocket available or something ? Anyway, as BN said the "heavy" weapons kinda seem to suffer a bit in effectivness.

Cazadors are a pain in melee range but radscorpions hardly do any damage.
The thing I found difficult around Cazardores and Giant scorpions are the stings, while they might not do much damage they killed me a few times cause of the poison. Can be nasty sometimes. I really like that though :D

All big guns are. Useless. Even more than in Fallout 3 to my memory.
Show them BN! I can only agree with that. I never bothered about miniguns neither in F3 and Vegas, eating to much amunition for to lidle damage and acuracy.

DForge, you seem to dislike the game being too easy, but you have the PC ver. so why not use mods?

I dislike game-balance mods myself... I prefer to play the "true game" that the creators made, not "mr modder's vision of the game". Even if it's too easy. I only use mods to fix bugs because those are made the same day the game is released usually while official patches take weeks or months.

It seems to have worked in NV, I mean, a varmint rifle did no damage, but Boone kills them now easily. Along with everything else.

What I meant is, the way the game is set up, if you enforce "true DT" without adjusting the DAM and threshold in some cases, over half the weapons in the game would be completely useless, since most enemies have reasonably mid-high DT.

a side note.

hate wasting ammo on Giant Radscorps?

Give Boone the unique supersledge, "oh baby". Set him to melee. Now he will kill a giant radscorpion with 2-3 hits on very hard mode.

Fun.

I'd rather take it myself and do the same thing. The issue is that it's difficult to get the sledge early on in the game, and that's when the radscorpions are most prevalent and also difficult to handle.

Well, Giant Radscorps spawn north of Goodsprings mostly. They can spawn south but it's rare and in optional areas. You may reach New Vegas without fighting them by going the suggested way - through primm, nipton and novac - then go to jacobstown since there is nothing threatening between Vegas and Jacobstown and do that simple quest there to pick up Oh Baby. Stalkers aren't hard when Lily tanks them.

I'd rather give it to Boone btw since he gets 100 in melee naturally so he will do more damage with it than you will if you're not going for unarmed/melee. He's also much tougher than you are in terms of durability, even with crappy armor he can take like thrice as many hits as you can. Perfect for melee if you ask me.
