Classic/10. This is a good thing.

Here's something from a decade later. I like the original version, I like covers, and I like ska. Whether bringing the three together was wise is for you to decide:

It's better then the original

.............

Sorry for the advertising, but the girlie is worth it. Note: Sex on the beach can have painful consequences...

On the contrary, the guy in it was far more interesting. Wish it was in color so I could see those eyes better

Don't even have to push play for this one. Crane Wife is one of their best albums, I think, and even though When the War Came isn't one of my favorites from it, I'd still have to give it at least a 7/10.

And now, for something completely different:

That was some messed up stuff sahib. Okay beat though I guess

2/10 trying to like something in it, but to no avail.

It's good. I'm going to play that next time I'm alone on my balcony looking at the skyline. Lovely atmosphere

Based on one of my favorite books of all time. Country is more of my MIL's thing but I love it when it's done well, such as here.

Errr... Nichols isn't bad by any stretch, and his stuff is certainly more literate than your average country star's, but I've just never found his voice quite suited to what he sings. It's always a bit of a stretch for him, whether the track ends up overproduced or, as with this one, he tries to force his voices to go to places where it doesn't belong. 4/10.

Some Modest Mouse for you, but in keeping with the theme, I've always felt that this one had a bit of a spaghetti western vibe to it:

I love how it gradually builds and enriches itself up. 9/10

Now something different:

One of the new classics, if you're into that sort of thing. (And I happen to be into that sort of thing. 8/10.)

Here's something a little more downbeat:

It's too depressing sounding to be honest. Not depressing in a good way too, depressing in a very meandering kind of way.

7/10

Very hard on the ears at first, but it's a brilliant style when you delve deeper into it. The man was a genius.
