I can't stand when these kinds of genres mix. It soils how much potential is to be had if there was a sort of focus. Beyond that, it's a well constructed song. 5/10

You scold decent and honest music because you're too closed minded. Not only that, you post that excrement in response.

It was ok excrement though. Still reeks of shit.

Nihil sub sole novum. /10

Also, your avatar is a gross and depraved extension of your sexual inadequacy, which is quite unbecoming and nullifying to your character, and a poor representation of the homosexual community.

I rate it :

HerpasyphilAIDS outta low self-esteem.

P.S. I just want to be a baby bunny rabbit.

My 1st post in this topic. So, here goes my favorite song about global nuclear war, i'd say 9/10 at least. Live.

English lyrics (my translation, verbatim):
Tell (me), birds, what attracts you (to fly) up
You ascended above me so boldly
Maybe it's so easy to fly for you
Because you are not trying to be successful
Because you are not tortured by insults of
Past years,
Winged years,
Beautiful years...

Enough
Fly now, fly now
Through the midnight
And the sun at its zenith
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give this song
And mushroom rain's silver threads
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give out this song
And mushroom rain's silver...

Tell (us), birds, time has come
That our planet is but fragile glass
Pure birches, rivers and fields
From the above this all is tenderer than crystal (glass)
Will we really hear
From all directions
Crystal (glass) breaking
Farewell breaking

Enough
Fly now, fly now
Through the midnight
And the sun at its zenith
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give this song
And mushroom rain's silver threads
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give out this song
And mushroom rain's silver threads

//cadence//

Enough
Fly now, fly now
Through the midnight
And the sun at its zenith
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give this song
And mushroom rain's silver threads
Verse by verse to the whole world
You give out this song
And mushroom rain's silver threads

fly... fly...

I tend to like certain types of melodic rock and prog, but that felt a bit too commercial to me and almost sounded like it was a contestant for the Eurovision song contest. 6/10

Uh yes, Ahab. I approve. Saw them live last Easter in Munich, it was great. 10/10.

Yeah, the vocals take some getting used to. Nobody likes them at first, but they have a certain charme to them.
Anyway, kinda generic sounding. 5/10, not my stuff.

There is a sense of "I want to hear this thing" all around this song, it sounds calmly meditational so 7/10, but it is for a more patient moments than this here. Paradoxically, in light of what I just said, I give you back this thing:

Jesus, you actually liked it and I'm not the only one? Anyway....

DSKNT sounds good, but I probably need to listen to it more. Thantifaxath has this weird melodic thing going on for its chaos that caught me in an instant, that I can not point my finger at. Here's another band of this ilk:

And I have a third one of this kind if you want that you probably haven't heard (though I do not know).

EDIT: will change for Kohno’s song

EDIT 2: never mind. it’s an album. Anyways, DSNKT isn’t really something that I understand. They’re definitely talented, but I don’t think I’m made for the kind of music they make. 4/10

I like the style and the honesty of the sound, but the delivery is a bit too "wannabe" punk for me.

This is better:

And for the style, so is this:

(Neither is punk btw, just similiar in some ways to the original song.)

Convulsing is a great band. I really enjoy all those Deathspell Omega-inspired bands that are popping up.
DEP is alwas a nice change.
8/10.

Another one of those fancy new french bands. And it's a bit more melodic at times, too.

PG is something again I need to check out... Jesus fuck those things are piling up...

Try Desolation in the meantime:

This Oathbreaker one - 4/10 tops. And it's not that i don't dig the style. It's just too much dissonance in this one (possibly intentional i recon, but still "bleh" to me), and also mixing is far from ideal.

Hm. Totem. A bit too modern Slipknot feel for my taste. 6/10.
Speaking of production and dissonance, why did nobody notify me that there's a new Portal album coming out end of January??
