I'm pretty sure this blues man is where we get the term "sold your soul to the devil" Apparently, he was terrible at playing guitar, then disappeared for two years and returned to town a blues guitar master. The legend is that if you go "down to the crossroads" somewhere in Mississippi and play your guitar, a black man will approach you and ask if he can tune your guitar. Robert Johnson is thought to be one of a handful of people able to play lead and rythym guitar simultaneously. Many guitar greats have attempted this to no success. This is one of maybe 4-5 pictures ever taken of the man. The face in the curtain might just be coincidence, but is at least a little unsettling in light of his mysterious legend.
