Yeah he united Iran since it was divided and really unstable in the middle ages after the fall of the long running Sassanian dynasty as dynasties would overthrow themselves rather quickly/foreign attacks and east and west Iran were more often that not separated. So he essentially united both east/west Iran and is viewed as a liberator/reviver of the Iranian empire. Hes read headed because while his father was Iranian his mother was half Greek half Turkish. One of my grandmothers sisters had red hair too, its un common like blonde hair but possible amongst Iranians.

I like to have him as my avatar because my forum username (Shah Ismail, supreme was just a joke addition to it) hes also one of my favorite historical figures. He created the largest Muslim empire of the time (out of the ones that were present during his time not in general), re united/liberated Iran and re started the old pre Islamic imperial traditions, He was a prolific poet and had a great interest in the arts, accomplished a significant amount in his teenage years (won a battle and was crowned king of iran at age 14), is an interesting character and also a total badass since he personally fought in a lot of his battles. A lot of other reasons but that's the basics of it.
