Real-life power armor???

teh olde?

they've been working on it for years. the US military, the universities, the japs. everyone...

even my granny!

can someone vat this btw? we've had threads about this before & this is nothing but spam/flame bait.

Hmm.

See, airb0rne, while we don't exactly forbid blatant "friendly" flames on this forum, they're something you're entitled to do once you've spent some time on the forum, say, a few months. Slinging mud at old users doesn't make you a lot of friends when you're a newbie.

A few similar threads were posted about it in the past, as Suaside pointed out.

Now, refrain from insulting forum regulars or I'm afraid I'm going to have to kick you out of the forum.

ok, ok, I think we got off on the wrong foot here :) Just testing the waters etc... Sorry for the repost!

Yeah, the first powered suit was developed in the 70's for use in construction, but it wasn't cost-efficient enough, and way too heavy. Any other powered suit would have to generate interest through its cost-efficiency, lightweight, or in a Starship Troopers way, as a weapons platform.

lol

im sure there is a real powerarmor out there.
but its Top Secret... Shhhh....

Has anyone else noticed that most of the 'real life power armor' looks more like the loader Ripley used to thrash the queen xenomorph at the end of Aliens than FO power armor?

Well, yeah, I guess they are trying to actually develop the strength-amplifying function to a point where it's cost-effective, and only then slap armoured plates on it ;)

Go watch stormtrooper costumes for your ultimate battlesuit experience! :P
