So I heard about this upcoming title a little while ago, very interesting. I loved Ostfront the unreal mod when it first came out, and still play the stand-alone version regularly, I really hope that I can feel the same way about this one. Especially since it will be the first FPS to include a German-side single player campaign. It's about damned time. IMHO, Tripwire is awesome in providing some alternative settings than the mainstream drek. Here are some snippets from the PC Gamer article:

So what do you people think about this one? It seems as though they are keeping some of the same old charm but adding in a few of the mainstream gimmicks. It should be worthwhile, I hope, at least for the German campaign. I just hope that they preserve some of the little things(Clicking after every shot to pull back the bolt on the bolt-action rifles comes into mind personally)."Here’s a brave thought: nicking someone’s deltoid with a stray MG42 round shouldn’t hurt as much as a snipe to the lung. En route to authentic war-play, it’s an idea Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad intends to make real."

"the dev is looking to add accessibility without doing disservice to any fans that count bolt-action rifle assembly as part of their breakfast routine."

"Also new is Skirmish, TripWire’s take on Rainbow Six’s Terrorist Hunt—uniting up to 10 players for tense, respawnless co-op to clear out squads of AI."

"integrated squad commands and a first-person cover system"

"being less aware of your surroundings via a mini-map or colored nametags hanging over every enemy () made our session more about making tactical decisions with limited information and less about hovering our crosshairs over pop-up targets."

"Deployable MGs can bipod to almost any surface, and a mounting system let us hop through the train station’s broken windows to flank Germans"
