Relax?!

Why instead of telling what idea is shit, the fallout community don't try to come actually with good ideas and suggestions?

Read the Fallout 3 forums. Besides which, all we've done is explain what we would prefer over what we think Beth will do. That means we are giving alternatives, not just spouting crap

and one thing is certain: you don't want interplay's FO3. you don't want Bethesda's FO3. you don't want Troika's FO3(no you don't).

Were you around when BIS was making Fallout 3? I think not. If you were, you would have noticed people were quite positive about it.

Stop talking crap just because we don't like this Fallout 3. We're more than willing to talk to Beth in a normal, humane way, but they have to come out and promise to stay true to what made Fallout Fallout. No empty statements, either

and by the way, i'm not generalizing. there are fans and there are fanatics. i've seen the forums and most people here are very reasonable.

sorry, but you've mistaken me.

He hasn't, you're NERDZ.

Normally we don't let double registration slide. I will, tho', but I'm guessing one of the other admins/supermods will ban you.

Oh, and don't double-post

It's amusing when some complete newbie comes onto the forum and starts chastizing like this. Maybe you might want to take a look at the other forums, including the archives Fo3 forum as well. Hell, I've even posted ideas on how to make Science, Repair, and many more "useless" skills more practical in the setting.

So think before you rape your keyboard the next time. Right now, we don't know if Bethesda has a concrete plan aside from what their PR guy says and a few other tidbits. We're trying to make sure that they don't make mistakes, by telling them what does make up the game. Telling us that the design will be what they do best and that it won't be "Morrowind with guns" isn't too reassuring nor bright an outlook.

man, bethesda just started to think about fo3.

Just started to think about Fo3? You must be right...it was one of the largest impulse auctions made in the gaming industry, ever.

you don't want Troika's FO3(no you don't).

Funny...Arcanum was more towards Fallout's design than anything Bethesda and BioWare both have developed. They also have two of the core people who would know, of all people, the setting details.

you want your fallout, with your input. it will take more than a year to complete it. so if you really don't want fallout being raped, you must act. not negatively bitching in a forum where the developers prefer to stay away since they only get flamed, but annoy the hell out of them in a healthy way, with constructive critics(unlike "this game will suck and i'm not gonna buy it").

Are you done mouth-stuffing, or are you done looking like a complete jackass yet?

You also assume that developers also listen to fan ideas, of which, very few are used. It also assumes that the developers are willing to listen to the fans, but that assumes an open line of communication.

If you hadn't noticed, while they are happy to give out interviews, they are rather lacking on giving us anything to expect us to give them any credibility or faith that they can develop such a game. The PR fellow already said to expect what Bethesda does best, and another gave a dodgy supposition that may be true. It might not be Morrowind with guns, but that's no reassurance that it would be Fallout, either.

if the developers had some incentive, positive input and good suggestions, they may try to make a game that will please (most of) us.

Or, they would try to cram in all those stupid little fanservice items in a la Fo2, which almost caused the game to flop because of the bugs and classless easter eggs. I'm also not going to do a developer's job for them. Exitium knows how painful that is with Lionheart. Either the developers have a clue or they don't, and it's not my job to make sure that they have done sufficient research and know why the game was developed in such a manner to begin with. If that is gone, then Fallout just becomes like FOT and F:POS, in name only, with a post-apocalyptic setting of sorts that uses the same names.

In that case...

Yup...

Wow. You know, for a forum full of people who hate Bethesda so much, there sure are a lot of people here who are intimately familiar with their every corporate move.

Clueless

There was a time I tried to argue with Rosh. Did it once, never tried again :)

I'm curious, are there any historical records about Rosh saying "You are right, I am not" about anything? Did anyone ever win a fight with him?

Oh, btw, did you notice that Bethesda's forums are close to collapsing now? They are closing in to the 2000 replies mark for FO3 (all four threads collected), they probably didn't expect THAT.

Bethesda made an offer a month ago, wasn´t it Odin? So they had some time to think things over.

I will even go further and say that when they were on the Iplay boards showing interest about former devs from BIS and Fallout they already had an idea for Fallout. And that was in DECEMBER last year...

Hahaha, FO3's ghost is haunting them, and they can't handle it. We'll always be here, whether they want it or not. And we'll always complain, whether they like it or not.

Explain to me why any and all Fallout games MUST be isometeric view? Is that view so superior to others and is it commercially competititve?

Because given the nature of Fallout's Combat, you NEED a view like that.

In many ways Fallout plays like say... Jagged Alliance 2... could you really have turn based, tactical combat with anything but "isometric"?

Isometric Viewing also lends a more gritty and rough apperance to the game... Essential to the Fallout world.

But you know, maybe it's just me.

It's not just you. :)

I just picked the first reason that sprang to mind.

An odd but strangely relevant fact: before the demise of SirTech, the JA2 devs were working on a JA3 outline that would have at least incorporated a first person perspective in some regard. I don't know if the resurrected JA3 will be following that concept or not.

I usually give the benefit of the doubt to most developers, but...

For the FIFTH TIME?! READ!

Okay, I'll give a hint. Take a look at many of the loading screens. :)
