Russian previews of Fallout 3

The lunchbox bomb is kinda clever, but

Or another weapon - some kind of a toaster firing everything... from picked up trash to unneeded items

I swear, they're doing this just to piss off fans

Yes, if the supermutants are indeed chinese supermutants, then it'll explain a lot. (also when it comes to real life politics, that is..)

Fallout 1? Seriously? Two hundred?

No, of course not. Fallout is not a very long game. Twenty hours sounds about right for Fallout 1. But this is what the writer of this article thought about twenty hours for Fallout 3:

Yeah, we heard it right - twenty hours instead of two hundred. So this is, strictly saying, a couple of evenings. Couple of battles. Where's the roleplaying here?

20h of gameplay is a-ok for a game 10 years old.
But now everything's next-gen and what do we get? Another 2-evenings games.

Besides, FO1 even with 20h gameplay had much replayability... Now, I doubt you'll be replaying FO3 as a childkiller or Int > 3 dumbass who can't talk :d

Meh, just look here http://www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=19296&start=0
and see how much replayability Fallout has.

Kalashnikov guns and chinese guns won't be forgotten. Supermutants mostly will be equipped with the latter.
I hate this.I thought that hands of supermutant were too big so they could't use this kind of wepons...

Brother None, no worries :)

as I've wrote you, it really seems that that preview was made based on all previews on the web released to the date. I've asked GStaff to clear it out for me if this one is official, he answered that will let me know if finds something out.

please also note that magazine was released on July 24th and PC Gamer Ru only on August 9. As PC Gamer is far more respectable magazine that BCG I really doubt that this one is an official preview (also because of cover art. I don't think Bethesda would've allowed to use an unofficial art)

It reads pretty shitty, too, as far as I'm capable of reading it, doesn't strike me as particularly insightful or original.

The Defonten art is weird, they probably don't even have permission from him, which is pretty...well...illegal, actually.

Chinese weapons....that's bullshit.
Can't believe it, probably a wrong translation.

:(

Chinese weapons being used by super mutants was confirmed in other previews as well.

I think the two hundred hours was talking about Oblivion.

Not that I think you mean to argue otherwise, but my response to that would be...

Sure, Fallout wasn't a stupendously long game (although considering the replay value, which I've found very, very few games can even approach, let alone match, 200 hours could be extrapolated as FO1's "length"), which is one reason I found myself playing FO2 more than FO1 (not because I think FO2 is actually a superior game in most respects). But, 200 hours of Oblivion? It's like playing 200 hours of an MMORPG, except minus the interaction with other people that can make it enjoyable. The moniker of Oblivion as a single-player MMORPG is actually quite accurate, in my opinion. Except that the couple of MMORPGs I played were still more enjoyable, even when soloing.

To put it more succinctly, the "length" of a game means nothing; quality of time spent is vastly more important than quantity of time spent.

Must... not... mention... Beyond Good & Evil... in every... thread!

So anyway did you people like Beyond Good & Evil? 10-15 hours of really well designed and diverse gameplay with top characterization and setting.

Your incessant mentioning of the game has caused me to begin looking for it. If it's not as advertised I'm holding you personally responsible and will act accordingly.

From what I've gathered I think the preview was based on other information released. Their graphic design team designed the cover.

This review is simply awful!

The impression is made, that it was written by the child to whom thirteen years, and the editor of magazine at all did not read clause!

The author of clause actually accuses Black Isle Studios in financial problems companies Interplay!

The Author of clause is not fan Fallout, and not professional. He is a layman!

Some phrases written to clause are simply offensive for the reader!

This begs the question...

Would most people prefer to see a 15-hour, Beyond Good & Evil quality (not saying it be LIKE BG&E) FO3, or 200 hour, pointless wandering through copy & paste dungeons with zero diversity in gameplay, and awful characters and setting Oblivion quality FO3?

The length of the game is not one of the top concerns for me. If it nails the qualities FO1 and 2 had (though what we've been shown so far indicates there's fat chance of that happening), replay value will extend that many times.
