You know, it looks like they're playing the realism card again and will say they removed this option because it's not realistic to punch a rat in the groin.

And you know... I'm starting to think, they might not actually be the most evil game producers, but they might indeed be stupid. At least Todd is. Definitely. Maybe some of his retarded decisions are not only related to marketing, but are indeed what he likes.

He wouldn't know a good game if it hit him in the... groin.

It's lovely how Todd is playing the realism and immersion cards..... in a game with exploding nuclear engines and nucular catapults.

As I understand it being hit in the groin, especially near the main arterie? in the thigh, does a lot of more damage than other hits will do?

I don't really much care if groin shots are in or not, though....

I will still base my decision to buy or not to buy on reviews at the codec and the codex...

Silly FeelTheRads you cant hit Todd in the groin .. theres nothing there to hit ... haven't you seen fallout 3 ?

id like make a "shot" in beth teams groins, then they will sure that it got some effect  I wont buy it, i don't even dl it, waste of time.

*sigh* Such a shame....my first joy in Fallout was when I realized I could do targeted aiming and that the groin was a viable option....on any character. :)

Oh well....I'm sure there will be mods for it, provided they allow them (which looking at their past games, they most likely will).

Meh, no mention of human enemy opponents yet, so I won't miss the groin hit, since mutants are sterile and ants don't have balls.

I'd like to hit women in the tits though. Sledgehammer to the hooters. Oh yeah..

But I ain't planning on using V.A.T.S either...Targeted shots to arms and legs are gay. Why bother while you can shoot them in the eyes or head? Just aim for the torso...

Edit: Yeah Kharn, I wanted to say I'll miss all the specific bodyparts critters had, that and targeting robots gadgets with a spear was fun.

Edit-Edit-

One example that we saw involved shooting the antenna off of a giant ant, thus blinding and confusing it to the point that it attacked nearby ants.

Looks like you can shoot "antennas" after all.

ants had antennae.

I think I'll rather shoot some more sprites for a while... Maybe for a long time. Oh, what the hell, most probably forever.

Focus on Fallout 1 over Fallout 2 aside, Bethesda is still painting Fallout 3 as the third true entry in the series. It is likely that, with the cult status of the original game, the multiplatform nature of the new game, and the cachet Bethesda now enjoys, most people who play Fallout 3 will never have played a Fallout game before, but Fallout 3 is not a working title and the game will not have a subtitle. Newcomers will have no problem jumping in, but Bethesda does not see its involvement as rebooting the franchise; rather, it is expanding it and taking it forward.

I may be reading this wrong, but does this mean, this thing is not a sequel to 'Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game' and 'Fallout 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game' regardless what they paint it as?

Or, to put it differently, if somehow, someone other, than Bethesda picks it up later to make a true sequel with the proper title, can this dreck, for all intents and purposes, be disregarded?

Well if some other company were able to pry Fallout's IP from Zenimax's cold, souless hands and wished to disregard Fallout 3 as canon I guess they could.
About as likely to happen as aliens landing in my back yard and giving back Elvis, though.

It means it will have 'Fallout 3' on the box as the main brand name, dare say it it will have the 'post nuclear role-playing game' tag as well... being the heretics that they are :P

What they are basically saying is it wont be called 'Fallout: Tictacs' or similar [i.e. it's not a spin off], that would mean any sequel down the line would have to be called Fallout 4, presumably.

Well Van Buren is called Fallout 3 too. Says so right on the launch menu. Didn't stop Todd from dancing on it's grave though. :P

Hah, I hope not...the basic idea was, if they drop the established, full descriptive title, we may as well assume it's part three in a line of shitty spin-offs...well that's streching it, but what else is left?

Could be. Let's see there's Fallout:Tactics, Fallout:BoS, and now Fallout:3 aka FINO3. Sould like a perfect sequel to me!

Fallout 3: A post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with RPG elements and stats and stuff. And plenty of immersion.

Right, sorry. Though my new buzzword might be "interactivity". Before I read the transcript of the PC Gamer podcast, I was unaware that no games before Oblivion really brought you into the world with "interactivity".

Interakshun and immershun, that's what I look for in a game.

Actually, interakshun and immershun are pretty last-gen.

Next-gen is "epic."

Yay for meaningless phrases!

lol...as if all movies since LoTR haven't burned out that word enough, now it's the go to word for gaming. :)
