Shelter video

The music is a bit overbearing, and the popup-interface items are a bit big, but otherwise it looks pretty good.

I laughed. Hahaha.

It looks awesome. Muchhhh better than Tactics. Can't wait to download.

They could make it so in order for the popup interface to show you have to right click. That would be a good idea.

Thank you.

The popup interface amounts to two transparent words to the left and right of the mouse, corresponding each action to a mouse button.

The menu appears only when you scroll the mousewheel, and disappears after a brief delay. It selects the current action for the "left".

Yeah...

Shihonage, do you need someone to make music?

Public, though it is too early to discuss now, if you are interested in (and capable of) helping with the music, e-mail us at help@secondvarietygames.com and we will get in touch with you in the future, should the need arise.

Thank you very much for the offer!

Are you using Torque to program the game?

Some of your animations look as if they are not running at the correct frame rate, such as the player character walking in the first part of the video. And it might be YouTube making it look choppy, but to be sure I would check for a repeated frame at the end/beginning of the loop.

Good luck.

It is quite possible that we have a repeated frame there. We'll get to such things closer to the end of dev. cycle.

Shelter's engine was written from scratch in Visual C.

Stand back Giant Rat!

So, is it possible to talk over the rats? (j/k)

Looks nice, I hope your new engine and tactics sprites are making this easy to develop, it's a crucial factor in making games like this.

Now that's a "sequel"

Now, I'm not quite the hardcore Fallout-fan - but that is really something to look forward to.
BS can take their F3 and shove it. (Sure it was enjoyable, but it was mostly so dumb it hurt)

The amount of thought and work you've put into the details, like storms on the maps and so on?
Brilliant.
Equally the quests (if they will be able to twist and turn a tad more) will also be great, the best I've seen in RPG:s the last 2 or 3 years...
I really liked the setting, with the music track doing its finely tuned work of reinforcing how its feels being betrayed, etc.

Any chance this will be available soon, in english ? It looks fairly 'done', as far as I can see.
Hope you keep up the pace!
