Should someone Make a prefallout game?

Yes!, a Canada version!

I always figured that the annexation of Canada in the story was not out of anger but rather necessity...they were at war with China and the chinese "Communists" were on their way East.

So I always pictured Canada willing to help against a approaching giant.

I'm sure people were against it, but Canada and United States are very close related I mean they have relatives right across the street it's not like they were dropping bombs on Canada.

as far as i know, this short sequence is supposed to be the execution of a canadian, and the surroundings look rather trashed.
granted, china was the main enemy, but i doubt the anexation of canada was met purely with joy :D

The US pretty much entered Canada uninvited and started killing everyone that didn't cooperate.

A prefallout game can work, but it has to be done in a specific way. Unfair and cruel, yet, with a glimmer of hope in the horizon for the protagonist, even if his fate is to die in the end. Combat will just ruin it. It should be more like the "When the wind blows" comic, rather then the "Mad Max" everything.

Yeah, there would definitely be less fighting, but I still would like to have a possible chance of survival.

IE have your main final mission be like get to safety, and there would be sirens in the distance and you would have a countdown of 14mins.

The idea of the game hints that it isn't a survival game but a preview of the prewar era.

They almost could make a movie of it.

Obviously a game taking place during/before the war is not a good idea.

HOWEVER. I do think that there's too large a time jump between games. It's insanely unrealistic that we have the situation we have in New Vegas considering it's been 200 years since the war. I'd rather have one set just 50-100 years after the war.

In fact i'd love to have a Fallout with a less crappy engine, serious thought put into it, respects the classics, 3rd and 1st person and returns it to the half tribal/half slightly modern that the classics had. Also I'd love to see grand canyon like locations. giant rocky areas and big open deserts. Kind of new vegas + Fallout 1, with more space between locations to increase the wasteland atmosphere.
