Sin City - movie

Looks good. Never read the comics (er, sorry...graphic novels), but Rosario Dawson looks hot as hell as that hooker.

That's probably a projector issue, then. =/

Really though, Welsh, like CCR said, this is no Hulk. If you ever get the chance to get the original film festival trailer (I don't know which one, don't really care) it had the entire Dame in Red story before the footage in the official stories.

If you get a chance to see it, you'll understand that Sin City isn't just another Hulk.

Aye, though my favorite part of that trailer is how they keep showing images from the actual comic and then how they adapted it for film. It showed they had put a lot of work into keeping true to the visual style of the original. For me, at least.

I wonder exactly how far they're going to go in terms of violence. I'm thinking of Kevin and Yellow Bastard in particular.

"I take his weapons away from him"
"Both of them"

I think ripping off a persons wang wont make the ratings

But still... drooling immensely while waiting for this movie

Autobiographic?

Anyway, I'd not heard of this before the movie announcement, but I can't say it has particularly interested me.

On a side note, why do people eagerly anticipate comic bok - movie conversions?
Have any of them (so far) got it right?

I'm eagerly anticipating Sin City because it seems to be a very true interpretation of the books. It's shot frame for frame and line for line from the original source material. Frank Miller (the author) is highly involved and shares directorial credit. The cast is spectacular and the actors fit their roles like a glove.

Sin City is my favorite comic/graphic novel series. I'm just stoked to see it on the big screen - especially since it looks like they're doing an amazing job with it.

Honestly, this movie is the only one I've ever seen that I actually felt was worth the $10 to go see. Hell I didn't think the MATRIX was worth $10 to see. But that's just my personal preference for dark settings.

Some cool stuff can be found on the Official site:

There's some nice clips and desktop backgrounds. Also, here's some backgrounds i made ( i posted these before in the other sin city thread, so why not here, i think they're cool):

I saw a trailer on TV different from the ones we posted before. Does anyone have the URL for this second trailer?

Yes yes yes.

The new TV trailer is sweet.

I love the scene with Marv... "These are the good days - the all-or-nothin' days. They're back!" It's surreal that the scenes from the books are translating so well. A lot of the dialogue I've heard so far has been spoken exactly like I heard in my head.

I'm not one to get excited about movies at all, but I'm very disappointed I won't get to see Sin City when it comes out in theaters. What I want to see the most is That Yellow Bastard, although The Big Fat Kill is going to be pretty sweet from what I've seen.

How will they be breaking up the stories in the movie?

This is the first I've heard of any tv trailers, so naturally I went and scoured the internet to find them. Here are the links for anyone else who may have missed out (I assume these are the tv trailers you guys are talking about?). They're pretty cool.

Damn, I can't wait for this movie to come out. I haven't been this excited since Gigli.

Not too sure. I do know the order, though. The movie is going to open with the short story "The Customer is Always Right." Then: "The Long Hard Goodbye," "That Yellow Bastard," and "The Big Fat Kill."

Of the three main ones, chronologicaly isn't "That Yellow Bastard" first? Why is it in the middle?

No. The Long Hard Goodbye (originally titled Sin City) is the first book.

It's in chronological order - except for The Customer is Always Right. Though there's really nothing in the story to indicate it couldn't have happened before the events in the books.

There should be a lot of overlapping scenes, as well, since some of the stuff in all three books happens on the same night.

Ah. I've read them all out of order and I thought that the events of That Yellow Bastard happened at least a little bit before most of The Long Hard Goodbye.

Thats mostly because I thought The Farm ended up abandoned after Marv was done setting things on fire, and I thought Hartigan and Nancy visited it before that.
