Briosafreak also informed me of a new retro-futuristic/Sci-Fi/Punk movie to look out for, this one is called "Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow", here's some of the story:<blockquote>In 1930's Manhattan, reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) has noted the disappearances of many of the world's most famous scientists. After the city falls under attack of giant flying robots, she decides to team up with her old flame/aviation officer Joseph "Sky Captain" Sullivan (Jude Law) and fly to Nepal in search of Dr. Totenkopf, whose plan is to destroy the world.</blockquote>There's also a trailer to look at, so remember to check it out.
 
Ok, first of all, how is this post-apoc? Second, I've played the minigame on the site, it sucks. Only plus in the movie is Angelina Jolie.
 
If you'd consider that a plus.

Sky Captain is about as Post-Apocalyptic as the My Little Pony treehouse.

Its more of an air-punk universe if anything. Like Crimson Skies, or that Disney cartoon where Balloo the bear flew a sea plane and was attacked by air pirates every episode.
 
Odin, I am becoming more and more afraid that the PA theme has melded with the "alter-retro" theme in minds of Fallout fans. They're not exactly the same...

DAC covers Omega Syndrome because its premise/combat/viewpoint/inspiration/quests are similar to Fallout. Similar reasons to why we cover JA3, in that the combat is very similar. I've never claimed either of them were post apocalyptic, which is what is being claimed here in the case of Sky Captain:

A valid point. I didn't say you did, I believe that the phrase "Fallout Clone" was used; Now, it is debatable, whether 'cloning' Fallout implies PA genre. I recognize the similarities in the engine/viewpoint/quests between the both games, and I've taken the liberty to post news at VDHP about this Fallout-like, albeit non-PA product.. Anyway, back on topic...
 
So ok let me get this sraith its 1930 some sienctis disapear the city is atacked by "flying robots" and somekind of reporter with a jude pilot is gona stop the mad doctor from destroying the world :lol:

Retro? Steampunk? The robots remind me of the Martians in "The war of worlds".

Meh, got enough hot chicks around me to gawk and fantasize about some famous Angelina Jolie. The movie sounds entertaining, though.

No, wait. I wouldn't mind nude scenes with Jolie.

Aha! So I was correct. I believe I saw Briosafreak's information first (thank you for reporting it in any case), but I didn't believe that we really covered Retro-Futuristic; so I didn't report it.
 
We did previously, don`t know if that has changed though, but i guess not, from this newsbit.

It`s a cool subject isn`t it?
