So after all these DLCs... the Brush gun is still THE gun?

Companions should have the option for waiting in other towns or at least at the hotel room in Novac. I really never send them to the Lucky 38, due to the annoying walkway you have to go to reach them again.

Maybe I should check out how this works and make me a mod or so...

This mod: Follower Home Marker does this sort of thing.

You get a new option to set the location you're standing on as your new 'home' for all followers.

Even if you change the location of the home marker, your companions will pathfind their way to your new spot (sadly, they do not automatically fast travel if they're loitering around the old marker, so there's a caveat.

Well obviously the Fatman is 10 times more powerful than the Brush Gun... the only problem is the lack of mini-nukes. But with the new DLC, you can find a lot more mini nukes now. I used it to 1-shot Rawr and Ulysses.

But for clearing out places like Quarry Junction or Dead Wind Cavern I use a Sniper Rifle with AP ammo. The AMR may do more DMG per bullet, but the Action Point usage sucks. And if a Deathclaw gets too close: Pushy uppercuts FTW!

On a side note: I really wish the new DLC had included a unique Ballistic Fist (Fist of the West?). That would've been sweet!!

edit: I got it!! Mini-nuke Fist!! Every punch makes a small nuclear explosion, lol.

I prefer power fists to ballistic fists so the Industrial Hand is damn fine in my book, that and it's a cross between a power fist and a ripper, if only it had a fire axe on it as well.

And a flamethrower. In for a penny, in for a pound, right?

Also JSP > AP ammo. This Machine + JSP == Three shot kill on Deathclaws. Less with crits.

Am I the only one who loves the hunting shotgun? (Fully modded of course) The brush gun is probably my favorite rifle in the the game though.

The sniper rifle with AP kills a deathclaw in 3 shots also. Or 1 shot if you get a sneak attack critical in the head. Plus, my SR is silenced and only weighs 3 pounds (carbon fiber parts). Brush Gun, This Machine, AMR, etc. cant be silenced; and weigh a helluva lot more.

For large groups and/or heavily armored opponents running towards me, I like the Survivalist's Rifle, or 12.7mm SMG, or Light Machine gun with AP ammo. But when your surrounded by deathclaws attacking you, nothing compares with Pushy.

I'm still using the brush gun. It outperforms the anti materiel rifle at short ranges and up until LR it was a lot easier to find .45-70 than it was to find .50 bmg. I just wish it had a scope to make long range sniping easier.

I like the hunting shotgun, because, as I learned from watching Bruce Campbell, real heroes use shotguns.

And chainsaws! The new Industrial Fist is about as close to a chainsaw attached a wrist-stump as we'll get in this game.

Boomsticks are the way to go. Every pellet has a crit chance so VATS and VATS related perks are useless in character build. Leaves alot more place for other usefull perks.

I found myself using Christine's COS Silencer Rifle for the majority of Lonesome Road, along with a Riot Shotgun with MAG ammo.

Think I prefer the Hunting Shotgun though, packs more of a kick. Also, what the hell is up with the Dinner Bell? It's has such a small upgrade over the HS that it's not even worth using.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hunting_shotgun#Comparison

Apart from the reduced spread (1.2 instead of 1.5) which is beaten by a Hunting Shotgun Choke (which reduces it to 0.9 from 1.5) there's no real difference except for a fraction of damage. You can put +3 shells in the HS with a weapon mod so that outweighs it anyway.

Sign up another for the hunting shotgun, even my energy only guy carries one around, or will do when he gets one.
Riot shotgun may be better but it's just not as cool.

Two-Step Goodbye - A unique Ballistic Fist for professional wastelanders only. On a particularly devastating kill shot, it plants an explosive charge onto the target. You’ll know what’s coming when you hear the beeping. You’ve got two steps to get away. Use them wisely. Note: we’ve already repaired and re-sold this weapon three times for friends of people who didn’t heed the warning.

Awesome!!!!!

I do already. :> Played FNV in the last months only when new DLCs came, etc. Will maybe start a new game when Gun Runner's Arsenal got released, but I am not sure yet... will decide later based on available free time and mood.

Well, my rather specialized explosives courier LOVED Red Glare. It needs the three levels of demolition expert + splash damage, but after that you don't anything anymore.
With pyro or HE rockets this thing kicks quite a punch.

Better yet, you can mass produce or break down the regular rockets into these, so it's not like the missile laucher or grenade machinegun, where you need to buy this ammunition (unless you use a mod, of course).
And they are light, so you can carry a lot with you.

There's a perk in GRA, I wasn't aware of that!

i personally use Christine's COS Silencer Rifle great for long range fighting, sneak crits and it also looks badass with Joshua Graham's
armor

I think right now with the dlc out Despite the Advantage Medicine Stick has aka Unique Brush Gun. That Paciencia is freaking awesome. Jsp Rounds and sneak critical attacks. It is insane! Gives new meaning to one shot one kill

Mad bomber perk is pretty nice for new explosives. I love the new 12 gauge ammo too. Wonder if people will complain about more mini-nukes?

Of course the GRA is obsolete if you have mods.
