So, can someone tell me the story between Fallout:BOS &

I've been reading through the achieved forums, and there seemed to have some grudge between the developers and NMA.

Can anyone tell us a story regarding Fallout:BOS and us?

No, really. That's all there is to say.

We told them not to, they made it, we hates it.

If you take one look at it (and, if necessary, then take a look at Fallout 1+2), you'll know why.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no FO:POS. It never existed.

*triggers memory extermination on self to forget this post as well*

or you could buy a big Mac and donate it to a homeless person, you know. Just saying.

Just ut00b it, d00d. If you can still consider buying it after that, you must be a blind man in the land of the cyclopes.

They're kidding, oblisk. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is a true gem. It's the only spin-off so far that stays completely true to the original setting. The reason it flopped and can now be found for a meagre $3.99 is because the developers didn't want to go FPS + RT combat like Bethesda. FOBOS stayed true to the isometric perspective and TB combat mechanics of the original games, scaring away most young, inexperienced gamers who just want dumbed down action and immersion. True Fallout fans, however, love FOBOS, but usually keep quiet about it because were Bethesda ever to find out how much we enjoyed FOBOS, they might just consider to make FOBOS 2 and we all know how that would turn out, don't we?

I'd buy it if I were you. $3.99 is nothing compared to the amounts of joy you'll experience playing it. The game also features a magnificent soundtrack that'll remind you of the original games. So is it considered canon? You betcha. Where Tactics failed, FOBOS succeeded. That alone makes it worth whatever price is being asked for it.

A must buy, I'd say. Trust me.

Or you could do like I did and buy it for a penny on E-Bay. Of course, you'll have to make sure it's a penny you really don't like.

Look, the breakdown goes like this: disregarding the Fallout setting (because-- why not, the developers did too), the game is just a mediocre top-down shooter comparable to something you would've seen back in '99 in a PSOne bargain bin. You can squeeze about as much fun out of it as any action game that isn't completely broken, but why? That's kind of like having your pick of dinner entrees and opting for the runny rasin oatmeal.

Interplay was in real danger of going bankrupt at the time, and this was the panic-borne turd they let slip in their tighty-whiteys. It's been completely disregarded by the entire community and by every single official or quasi-official power that has absolutely any say in determining Fallout canon. The only thing you'll have to gain from a playthrough is the understanding of why it's so shunned.
