Well, I'm putting it to the test then:
Plated Gloves:
First Fight: 2%DR.
Second Fight: 4%DR.
Third Fight: 6%DR.
Fourth Fight: 8%DR.
Champion: 13%DR, +4% Unarmed.
Normal Gloves:
First Fight: 1%DR.
Second Fight: 2%DR.
Third Fight: 3%DR.
Fourth Fight: 4%DR.
Champion: 9%DR, +4% Unarmed.
I did some further testing: this time with the restoration mod, as well as Dermal Assault Implants and Phoenix Assault Implants installed.
The results were... interresting.
Normal Boxing Gloves:
First Fight: +1%DR to: Normal, Laser, Explosion and Plasma.
Which continues to build up at a rate of 1% per fight.
Becomming the chapter has no further impact on this.
For the Plated Gloves, however, I was truly amazed.
For the first fight I got:
+2%DR to: normal, explosion and plasma.
As well as +5%DR to Laser.
Which continues to build up using the same rate per fight.
Which means:
13% normal DR.
20% laser DR.
8% explosion DR.
8% plasma DR.
And 4% unarmed bonus.(like it matters...)
I wonder what happens if I lose a fight on purpose and try again...
