Spiderman 2 good reviews-

welsh

Junkmaster
Hey looks like Spiderman 2 might be better than the first one.

To be honest, I thought the Green Goblin was terrible in the first flick and Whilem Defoe, who normally I like, sucked.

That said, it seems that Spiderman 2 has learned the lesson of "what makes a comic movie great"- answer? Good badguys.

I thought the original Spiderman was excellent. You have to overlook the predictability of it and concentrate on the direction, acting, and the fantastic writing. You also have to keep in mind that it's the beginning of a series. And the first movie isn't always that great (think X-Men compared to X-2).

Spiderman 2 was about ten times better than the original. The special effects were beautiful and the acting and directing was brilliant. Aunt May (Rosemary...shit...can't remember her last name) really steals the show though, tears came into my eyes every time I saw her on screen for some reason. She's like "Everygrandma" or something.

Oh, and Doctor Octopus was badass.

And Kirsten Dunst is fucking hot.

And Bruce Campbell is in it. He rules. Oh, as well as some notable appearances by other Spiderman comic characters, foreshadowing the future. Peter's professor, Doctor Conners plays a mid-sized role in the film. He goes on to become The Lizard, and so forth.

But yeah. Great film. On par with the original Batman. 10/10.

Not to diss any spiderman fans but I hate that goddamned arachno-faggot. Its not enough that he has like 23 different comic books, he also sneaks in the x-men quite frequently. Who buys that the arachno-faggot could beat the Hulk?!

*edit* Like someone said to me a few days ago: someone's sarcasm meter is turned off.

*edit 2* It's so easy to poke fun at Spidey fans.

*edit 3* Venom or Carnage would have made the arachno-fag movies more interesting. Meryl Streep should have played Mary Jane.

I just don't get that entire American comic-subculture, really. I never did.

I mean: what you have here are a bunch of socially marginal (meaning: they're mostly geeks) in real life, who got some kind of Suuupah pooowaah, and go kill a generic bad guy at night, when wearing tights.

And let's face it: the only thing that's different between two different series is the Suuupah poooowaaah involved.

Boring.

Take the whole basis of Unbreakable, for example.
As my god-king would call it: laughable.

Did anyone ever see the old Spiderman movies? I think there's two of them. Saw them on the BBC once when I was still a teenager, and liked them. No real special effects, bad acting, lousy costume, but honest movies... Like the Hulk series, but even worse (and thus, even better).

I liked Sam's Spiderman, though, but the first Batman movie is still bigger and better. The Green Goblin sucked, for instance. I didn't like his costume one bit. It's not the same Goblin from the comics.

X-Men are my favourite comic characters, basically, I have 99% of their comics (the Dutch series by Junior Press) and really love them, but I couldn't enjoy the movies, to be honest. They're not bad (especially the second movie), but those goofs are not the X-Men I know from the comics. I missed the original suits, for one thing, since they look so much better than that pomo leather outfit they wear in the movies. I know the suits have changed over the years, but still... I think they are wearing black SM outfits just because of Batman's success with black.

Bwah... I'll stick to my comics.

Didn't you watch Kill Bill 2 Jebus? Bill has that whole monolog on Superman, how he's different from other super-heros because he has to get into a disguise; he's really super, instead of a geek with superpowers. Even though Batman is obviously the best super-hero, being someone who doesn't have to rely on super-powers.

Besides, even if comic super-hero movies are bad, they are better than the video games which get made off those movies.

You mean Kill Bill Volume 2. Don't be a dipshit.

Bill has that whole monolog on Superman, how he's different from other super-heros because he has to get into a disguise; he's really super, instead of a geek with superpowers.

That monologue is good. Can't figure out why it's in the movie, exactly, but meh.

Even though Batman is obviously the best super-hero, being someone who doesn't have to rely on super-powers.

Green Hornet, baby.

Besides, even if comic super-hero movies are bad, they are better than the video games which get made off those movies.

The Spider-man games are actually pretty good.

Because "Volume" is obviously the most important part of the title. Giving the work a definite title and informing the reader as to which part of the series the work associate with this particular title is part of. Really, I really couldn't care less.

That's interesting, I never knew "monolog" was an acceptable spelling. Stupid spell-check, I wanted "monologue."

Well, unless the Spiderman games are some of the best games ever created, they won't balance out the amazingly bad Superman and Batman games that have been made. After all, if you shoot a nun then plant a flower, that good act doesn't excuse the bad.

It's important because Kill Bill 2 sounds like a sequel. It's not a sequel. It's not a "series." It's one movie, split into two volumes. So yes, it does matter.

No, I haven't seen it yet.
And though I normally loathe such pieces of monologue, I'm sure I'll forgive Tarantino, though. The guy can make a conversation about hamburgers seem interesting...

I saw the movie last night. I thought it was a very good movie. Sam Raimi outdid his first one. I thoroughly enjoyed the subtle things that Sam threw in throughout the movie. Doc Conners (Lizard), John Jameson (Venom), Harry finding the Green Goblin stuff (Hobgoblin), Bruce Campbell's cameo, and some other small things. But there was one thing that really got me goin. And that was the scene where Octavius was in the hospital after the accident, and the doctors were attempting to remove his tentacles. As soon as one of the Doctors reached for the chainsaw, I immediately thought "EVIL DEAD." Sam even made it so that the tentacle cam view was the exact same effect as the evil spirit view from Evil Dead. It was awesome.

John Jameson isn't Venom. Eddie Brock is Venom. John Jameson is the Wolfman

Harry finding the Green Goblin stuff (Hobgoblin)

Harry isn't Hobgoblin, either. He's just the Green Goblin.

You need to brush up. :P

Yeah. Then Harry Osborn's psychologist is the last Green Goblin.

However, I don't think they want to use the Green Goblin costume again, and there's four years between......pleanty of time to design a new Green Goblin costume/Hobgoblin one.

I really like James Franco, hope he ends up like in the comics.

yeah, well...
I never read the comics. I was just tryin to remember from when I used to watch the cartoon back on Saturday morning Fox. But Jameson brought back Vemon! I was sorta in the ballpark there. :)

I saw it today.. It was pretty good, better than the first one I guess (Can't quite remember the first one, but Octupus is way cooler than that fucking Goblin)

Nope, wrong again.

The cartoon wasn't accurate to the comics, at all. Venom was brought back from another dimension by Spiderman.

Thor was involved too. Y'know, the god with the hammer.

Do you remember the joke about Logan's suite? When Wolverine complains about the X-Men outfits in the plane, Cyclops asks him if he'd prefer yellow spandex. This is an in-joke that refers to the fact that in the comics and cartoons the majority of the X-Men costumes are Yellow and Blue spandex particularly that of Wolverine. The director knew that some fans would complain about this change but as Cyclops points out it would be quite ridiculous to use this today. That look was ok in the 70s but today it does not fit.
