Did you read my whole post? There was a leaked German copy that was repackaged and sold in Russia. Russobit could very well only be targeting that version.

Problem with No-CD cracks: They're usually coded to work on one .exe, or at best one SecuROM algorithm.
Eventually one or the other will change and the crack becomes worthless.
So legitimacy IS an issue until the 1.7 crack, if you play that way.
And yes, alienating customers is a pretty big risk. But it's up to the company to decide where the balance is between losses by piracy and losses by estrangement. If you do indeed fall in the second category, don't whine here, TELL THEM.

That's a good point that Ashmo said before. Different game versions require different no-cd cracks anyways, so...maybe this isn't so different. Just install the game, update to 1.7, and patch, and install the crack. It's no different for most games.
