So - Where are you going on vacation?

I just came from out of the American west. Great trip.
Loved it.
 
I'm taking my first vacation in like 2 years (busy busy banker) to California, my girlfriends sister is getting married.

I really dont do weddings or funerals or crap like that and her family are big on dancing and partying, "somehow I will survive".

Still I love San Francisco and Oakland so it will be nice to hang around those areas some more. That is actually were I met my gall on my last vacation, basically the lesbian friend I was staying with was like "check out this hot girl I have a crush on" and we hit it off instantly. In hindsight I dont think my friend apreciated it much.
 
I'm hoping to head North and into the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon sometime this summer.

Can only hope it happens.
 
vacation? hmz... my colleague doing the same job as me just got fired. so now i'm stuck with twice the workload.

last year i've had 4 days off. and was barely able to take any recup at all (was due several weeks, i'd think).

somehow, i doubt it'll be better this year. i had made a thread about where to go on holiday since i planned to go this year, but hell, doubt it'll be possible.

One of my friends who writes for our site did two trips to New Orleans to do reconstruction and he accumulated a whole bunch of restaurant reviews while he was there. If you need places to eat at the end of a very long day send me a PM and I'll send you a few good links.
 
Thanks for the offer, but it's food 'n shelter included, so I'll probably never have to hit a restaurant (though I might once, but then we'll probably do it as a group, as SCI normally does)

I'm more worried about how to get to the US. Man that costs a lot of dineros. I'd rather slave my way there on a boat then go by plane, but I doubt that's even possible.
 
I'll be spending every weekend on the beaches of Long Island Sound watching the waste flow out from NYC whilst sipping a Cuba Libre (Don Q Crystal of course) 8-)

Probably take a trip up to Maine to see my brother and do outdoorsy stuff. Like get baked in the woods.
 
I am staying in finland. Cant be arsed to travel abroad, and anyways i have to study. Which blows.

i cant sleep normally anymore.
The freaking sun doesnt go down properly, its sunlight 24/7.
I seriously hate the early summer when you havent gotten used to the sunlight during night.
I woke up at 8pm, and thought it was 8am.

F*CK you sun.
 
While I'm not really going on vacation but I am going to have a whole summer of firsts. I am moving to somewhere on the east coast. In 4 days it will be my first time on an airplane. First time seeing the ocean. First time living in a city.
Right now I'm a little bit nervous but very excited. There is few other things I have never done and will be done that may seem mundane or stupid or even boring to most.
I'm also going to get used to busses and cabs. Here I can just walk across town or drive if I'm in a hurry. Now, if I have to go a few blocks it's a cab ride, across the city, it's a bus. The next city over, a train. Fucking bizzare thing to me. So many people crammed in one place. But hell, I'm 22. It's growing up time ladies and gentleman.
 
Going to Massachusettes to see family and perhaps roll down to RI, to visit the places I grew up. Only 8 days leave, but better than nothing, right?
 
Well, I'll have to wait until december to hit the summer here, but when we get to the summer, I'm planning to take a cruiser with my girlfriend and my pals. We've decided that we're going to Rio de Janeiro. And then after probably I'll visit my father at the South of Brazil, in Santa Catarina, with my girl. So, beaches, alcohol and sex, thats all.

Edit: right now my mother and my stepfather are on a flight to Lisbon, then they are going to Madrid, Paris and Rome. Wish I could be there :(

I have no vacation, but even if i would, i wouldn't travel anywhere abroad, at least no where very far away (i absolutely hate flying and seeing sites doesn't excite me very much).
 
I tend to prescribe to the yankee live to work instead of work to live philosophy. I've not taken a vacation in nearly 10 years; however, my current job offers me amazing benefits of which is 180 hours of PTO for newbies such as myself. So I've decided to take a week and go to the annual family camping trip in the Hoh rain forest here in Washington state.

I find I'm pinching myself that I'm actually taking an entire week off instead of just one day to go to PAX. :)

Bahah, It's daylight here from 5-6am to 10pm sometimes a little later. :D
 
Enjoying my first summer vacation as a teacher. Sitting around, watchin movies, playing Battlefield 2, working out a bit, partying any night I feel like it... It's been pretty awesome
 
Staying in Greece, obviously. I'm leaving tomorrow to spend a week at a seaside resort, then in July I'm off to an island for as long as I can afford to stay.

It hardly qualifies as a vacation when you've been doing it all-year long but anyway...
