When I was a teenager, I was a huge X-Men fan, so my favourite superhero is of course an X-Man: it's Longshot, who briefly joined their team.
My favourite supervillains also belong to the X-Men realm. They are called the Marauders. My favourite Marauder is Vertigo.

I love Ghost-Rider personally. He is one of the most interesting characters in the Marvel Univere IMO (not really). The movie wasn't so great, but maybe they will get it right next time (they didn't).
Some of my childhood heroes would be Asterix and Obelix and I still like them. Sure, they're not all bad ass mofo's but they are hilarious.
I also find Rahan to be an interesting hero, driven by curiosity and using his brain rather than brute force, truly a civilizing hero.
As for villains, I never actually found a villain that suited my taste, except for The Master. I liked the fact that The Master had a good back story, he felt real, he had a purpose and he wasn't black and white but mostly Gray...
