It’s funny how superstition becomes its own means of justification. That a belief is more absolute when it is out of your control, even though the very inception, the very acceptance, of the belief was purely psychological.

“I cannot go out. A black cat crossed my path.”

“I will have good fortune today, for I found a penny on its head.”

There is something ill in the fact that one must have faith in the former to have faith in the latter, when choosing to believe any combination is arbitrary.

    (Just... venting.)

Uhm... anything that is not rational is equivalent with superstition.

Heck, all religion is based on superstitious beliefs.

Superstition is merely "faith" that isn't mainstream.

Might not be all that deep, but it's troo. People who for instance claim ID-theory to be scientifically backed up are stupid. (This is to say, you're not stupid for believing in ID, but you're stupid if you think this belief is based on logically valid thought and can be backed up by science.) Again, not deep, just true. I can claim this to be true backed up by any given language textbook. People who claim illogical things to be "logical", and pseudo-sciences to be "sciences", are stupid. Not because they just don't know the definitions of the words, but because they know the definitions and think it fits, when it in fact according to how the terms are defined, doesn't. That makes them marked by a lack of reason and understanding, or intelligence if you will, and hence stupid.

    See for further reference.
