Tales of Torment

Than you so much for this, brother none :) It was indeed a very fascinating read to find out how Torment came to be. I loved the part where MCA talked about putting the RPG stereotypes on their heads e.g. reverting so rats were one of the hardest enemies in the whole game, especially the intelligence rats? (uff - they were real nasty  - the game itself was great fun :) )

Now, if just Chris could make that other planescape game he talks about....

They were originally going to call it Last Rites? I like the name Torment better, as I feel it fits better with the Nameless One.

Other than that, the presentation document is badass. Morte's quotes are pretty hilarious:

Sheesh. Can this guy write any more text? I‟m already bored, and I’m fucking dead.

The point dipshit‟s trying to make is that this will be a kick-ass game.

Sometimes I wonder why my eyeballs don‟t dry out.

I won't spoil the rest. If you haven't given the document a look yet, I'd suggest you do.

A bit off-topic but if you want to see more games set in the Planescape setting, and you happen to own NWN2, you might wanna keep an eye on an upcoming campaign called the Planescape Trilogy. I believe this is what Chris was thinking about when he answered the question about whether he would like to work on a Planescape again.

This mod will be released in 3 parts, and the first part is set to be released soon (I believe they said that it's September at the very latest). It's been going through internal beta now.

It's certainly one of the more ambitious modding projects I've seen, and the originators of the team are fans of the original P&P Planescape source material, and many of them adore Torment as well (though the game won't have anything to do with the story of Torment).

I'm actually looking forward to this more than most games (except Age of Decadence), it looks quite good and I hope they can pull it together. http://www.planescapetrilogy.com

Great interview so far (Still reading).. I never got to complete Torment, but I think I might pick it up again, after this.

Also, I thought this was a pretty funny remark, current subjects considering:

Chris Avellone: Turn-based systems do not translate well into real-time games.
