Talking Heads

I'm planning to create wasteland-ish armour for him, but not the stuff you can see in Fallout - it's going to be totally custom one.

How about a 'wasteland hunter' theme? an armor made out of something looking like thick deathclaw skins crudely, but efficiently stitched together with metallic 'wires'? and perhaps some small personal symbol burned into the armor as sort of a 'name tag'? :wiggle:

Indeed. I hope not too dumb. I took a look at Max Stone image while doing him.

As soon as you texture that head, I'm going to steal it, give him a vault suit somehow, and throw him into my copy of Fallout 1 as the replacement for the current Max Stone. Fair enough? :wiggle:

I played around with my Vic talking head it still needs some work but I wanted to test how would it look as an frm so created a bmp loaded into photshop and converted it to indexed color but the result is crap

What have I done wrong? I remember creating frms like this and they ended up ok. Anyway right now I'm searching the forum for an answer but if someone knows and tells me I would appreciate it.

You forgot to set dither to something like 75%. If you convert without dither, you get shitty results.

How about uber western retro post-apoc gladiator?

I must take care of his left non-metal side too :wiggle:

Don't forget to replace Natalia and that 2nd guy too :P

Maybe you want to make him somewhat tribal-esque with that shoulder-thing and hair? :P (Even if not, it looks cool already. Hurr durr.)

No, no, no, he isn't tribal. Not sure why someone who is not wearing normal clothes/full body armour is seen as tribal.

It's pure cliché with one-side metalparts and non-covered body. :>

I am still tensed to see, in what direction you will push that head. I'll guess I can say that regardless of how it will end, I can find some use for it. :wiggle:

It looks nice as is, i'd say try to avoid overdoing the naked shoulder... another leather belt going down from the armor in the direction below the armpit would make it look more functional i think.

Quick critter version for ya :P:

Love it. Next project, after bald dude? :P

Hmm... i don't know, i made that quick one mainly to show more clearly what i meant with the 'funtionality' comment.

Stop makeing such nice eyecandy dammit!
I love it. Very post-apoc style (Mad Max)
When the PC critters are done I hope you're still interrested in doing some stuff for NPC's!

Conti can you distort the symmetry on the models so their faces aren’t so well balanced – as they appear now they look like the half of the face was modeled and simply flipped to finish it. I don’t mean to be so knit picky but peoples face are not perfectly balanced, generally one side is higher than the other, our mouths are slightly twisted, eyes bigger/smaller, etc...but great work nevertheless Conti…

Personally I okay with them as they are...

By the way looks like I'm getting better at this though at the next level up I would still need to put points on my CG skills

(look at the center of his forehead I just saw this irritating mistake now that I was able to make the correct frm conversion)

I'd say she's missing eyelashes
Hint: read this thread more carefully and you'll find out why she's missing them.

Yeah, yeah. Something I didn't make on this particular face doesn't mean that I don't know about it  Hint: look at Rake's nose. I simply don't see any reason to waste a time for it. This is not uber realistic CG face ever thread, but few pixels, unrealistic, somewhat cartoon-ish, and 228 colors shit. So...

Seems like all your heads are simply too cartoon-y. Dunno. Maybe you wanted to make them looking this way?

Yes, the head is a bit overdone. I think the head is too round (especially the upper part), the lips are like he wants to kiss you and the nose is too wide. Ears are strange looking as well. Also I think that his body is too small, compared to the overal head size.

Not to demotivate you, just to show up what I think is problematic in this head. :>
