Now as I understand it HayT is an admin on the BethSoft boards, not a "developer", so complaining that he has not played FO2 is like complaining that the person that delivers their mail hasn't played FO2 and therefore they are going to do a shitty job on it.

Other than blowing up the paranoia balloon what have any of the comments in this thread accomplished? I don't like some PR halfwit essentially calling us losers any more than the rest of you, but calling him a flaming jackass isn't going to change anything, nor is it going to help the misconception that the NMA is full of nothing but rabid monkeys with a hardon for pessimism.

I'd say insulting the core fanbase of a game you're developing is about as stupid as igniting a flame/hate war with the guys that are gonna develop the game that you have been waiting for for years.

(in other words, yeah, a bit of a cooling down wouldnt do anyone harm)

what's the duck and cover web site? I tried duckandcover.net or whatever on the link page and am getting no result. But then, I'm getting hit pretty bad trying this site. Are they just collapsing under the heavy traffic as well?

While I don't know first hand, I think he is a dev and a Admin. A few Obsidian guys do that too.

It did, just a knee jerk reaction to everything going on. I guess I'm just happy to see Fallout live again at BethSoft instead of dying off like alot of other great franchises and all the negativity has made me jittery.

Hayt is a dev, he volunteered to admin Bethesda's forums as well.

Sorry I should say as an Admin I meant he is employed to run the BethSoft site by Bethsoft. So when he says us, it could mean, the entity known as BethSoft which he is an employee of, but not a programmer/artist/designer/producer. Therefore he is part of the company but not a developer. *shrugs*

*EDIT* K, Montez says he is a Dev... so I'm wrong heh. Though they do have multiple projects in the works so who knows how much he will be working on FO3. Though if he's a programmer it doesn't matter much if he has played the previous games. I'd be more worried about the designers and artists, in that order. *shrugs*

But yes Flaming the PR guy isnt going to help out, the poor guy is just doing his job, he is only allowed to release information that his boss had told him he can. It is unlikey he is a dev as well as PR guy so probably wont be making those decisions anyway. Cut the guys some slack they have probably been harased by a few thousand fans in the last few days. Every email they open probly says that they suck and wont do a good job, and the havent even started yet.

Just becuase it will be based abpon their current technology doesnt nessacarly mean that they dont have technology we dont know about. They may alreaedy have a new engine waiting to go for an RPG thats not MorrowWind
