Television- What are you watching

When I was young the only channel we had was on for thirty minutes every month, and it was uphill both ways and wolves would descend upon us and pick one of the weaker kids to rip to shreds and then we had to do our homework in the bloody snow... er, sorry, wrong thread.

Wolves? You were lucky, we had to get up each morning, build the tv and make the showes ourselves out in the freesing snow with polar bears running around us picking off the weak ones.

And when we got home our dad would kill us to sleep. :P

Kill? You are lucky! Our dad was a zombie, he would eat a bit of our brain every evening for desert and we'd have to work half the night to spend the other half in brain surgeory to get it all patched up.

As for tv, HA! All we had was an empty shoebox. And when I say empty I mean it was full of poisonous spiders! Every time we watched this "tv" one of us would die.

I sometimes watch random shows on Animal Planet, the Discovery Channel, and the Food Network.

What I watch on a regular basis (in no particular order):

CSI (the Vegas one, I agree with most people here that Miami SUCKS)
Family Guy
Futurama
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Mythbusters (Surprised this hasn't come up before...)
Celebrity Poker Showdown
Anything with Ron White on Comedy Central
Emergency Vets

Wait, so you've seen the episode of Atlantis where they defend it somehow from the Wraith? Or are you farther behind then us? Not thet is really matters, but still...

I have seen all of season 8 of SG-1, and all of season 1 of Atlantis. See, its wierd what SciFi does with the show. SciFi channel in the US starts airing a new season before any other channel in the world. But then, SciFi like takes a winter break in which they don't show new episodes. It's at that point that Sky1 (I think) begins airing that same season from the start in the UK. They eventually surpass the last episode shown in the US, and are a bunch of episodes ahead by the time SciFi starts airing "new" episodes again.

Those cocksmokers. May Ratty eat their eyes out of their head while shitting in their Wheaties.

And I only watch CSI: Miami for teh boobies.
And I only watch CSI: NY for the HOT Puerto Rican CSI hottie.

The only shows I watch are:
Battlestar Galactica
Family Guy
Blue Heelers (Australian Cop Thing)

I only watch a few shows regularly:

Fat Actress (new Showtime show with Kirstie Alley... not bad, kinda funny, I like Kirstie and I want to see her get slim, which is what I hope will happen sooner or later).
The Avengers (Old British Program about secret agents; campy but fun; I just love BBC America)
The Saint (Yet another old British program, this time about a rich adventurer type who solves mysteries for fun and usually walks away a bit richer to boot) Did I mention I love BBC America?

I'll catch CSI Las Vegas when I can but I'm usually doing other things during those hours when it's on. Other than that there are few programs I'll actually sit down to watch. I may find something good at random but that's about it.

Did anyone see the new series from the creators of Family Guy ? The American Dad pilot, damn that was hilarous. I gotta say that I laughed my ass of when that fish talked dirrty :D

I was a bit dissapointed about the changes from the original pilot posted on the American Dad website, but I guess the son can't just be a Mort Goldman .Jr.

"I used to be an Olympic skiier!"
"Oh yeah? And what was I supposed to do, let East Germany take the Gold Medal? Not on my watch."

It was pretty funny...but it seemed way too much like Family Guy.

The only other show I'm really following right now is The Shield.

Welsh - Glenn Close rules pretty hard. She's a good foil to Mackey, because she's just as tough and street-hardened as he is, but she's a straight shooter. Part of me thinks she has a few demons in her closet, though. It'll be interesting where they take the characters this season. I'm also wondering what's going on between Vic and one of the ex-strike team members (the blonde one, not his close friend). He showed up looking for Mackey in the first episode, looked kind of shady, then disappeared.

I'm also getting into Deadwood, now that the DVDs are out. Only on the fourth episode, though. Good show.

Deadwood is pretty cool. If you look up some of the info- a lot of history goes into the show. Swearengen is just the best character on TV. I also like the dialogue- very interesting use of language.

As for the Shield- I am not sure abotu Glenn Close. She is showing her age and I am buying more her as a maternal peacemaker than a tough street cop who came up through the ranks. Trusting Macky is a bit stupid.

I wonder if Vic is going to whack Shane. Hope Lem comes back on regularly. I am also wondering what they will do with Acevada who I really like as a character- a arrogant hispanic politician who is willing to make moral compromises.

I suspect that the new captain's drug policy- seizing propoerties for forfeiture is a more direct scheme than Gilroy's plan to drop local property values.

CSI NY Puerto Rican Hottie?

From Brooklyn! (that's all the bio I could pick up).

I don't think shes dressed like this in the series, is she?
CSI NY hasn't been on TV in Germany yet, but I'm looking forward.
I also watched Dark Angel, guess for what reason (it wasn't the storyline  )

I watched Dark Angel for the same reason. =(

Then it got really dumb and I couldn't take it anymore.

I watched a few episodes of Charmed for Holly Marie Combs. Couldn't take it for long either.

Speaking of dumb television, did anybody watch The Hollow Men?

It was like an English Mad TV, made me want to vomit.
