The Age of Decadence public beta released

WorstUsernameEver

But best title ever!
We have been covering The Age of Decadence in the past so it goes without saying that we would be posting when the public beta of the title, which includes the content that is going to be available in the final demo, got finally released.

Direct links to it are available on RapidShare and our host AtomicGamer, while a Torrent can be downloaded from both File-Upload and Demonoid.

Thanks to all the mysterious anonymous contributors that pinged us about it, by the way.

Update: A new link is available on our host AtomicGamer, so the post has been updated accordingly.

Sounds incredible but yep, it's out.

EDIT: We've added another link to AtomicGamer for people who have problems with RapidShare and don't like torrents.

Hehe. I did submit it as soon as I saw it.

Sorry if you were spammed, but I just didn't want it to disappear in all the Wasteland 2 news. :)

Not at all! Submitted news is always welcome. :)

Any info on system requirements? Can't seem to find anything on the site.

From the unofficial FAQ:

What system requirements will this game require to play?

TGE system requirements are Pentium III 1000, 512 MB RAM. About the graphics card, AoD worked fine on GeForce4 MX440 with 64mb onboard. We'll be able to be more precise about this before release.

There are quite a few bugs. They still call it beta for a reason.

Yes, I grasp the concept. Some are buggier than others. Thanks.

What we are mostly gathering are either technical issues due to PC configuration (many times due to users not installing latest directX or VC++), some interface glitches and some annoyances like the text being too small. Give it a try.

Thanks. I will.

Well I tried it. I am loving it so far. I enjoy how many options you have for completing quests. It seems like the replay value is going to be extraordinary with this game. I will definitely be following this game more closely from now on.

That's nice to hear.

I've been holding off on the beta because I'm unsure if I want to skew my first impressions of the game with a beta release. I'll probably wait until there's a near-finished or finished version out.

Well I tried a Loremaster build and I ran into a wall, Too many of my options just end in having to be killed by NPCs with better equipment, Maybe I just did a skewed build. Gonna try another one. I haven't found that many bugs except for a weird instace were I could repeat the Intelligence check with Mercato and I got the skill points for it twice, after reloading a save file becasue I got killed I could no longer repeat the check so I guess it fixed itself.

I got owned by the first enemy :(
Disarmed me 3 fuggin times. Will try again with a less-persuasive, more-combative character.
