Watched this the other day. Pretty impressive to have Snowden appear on the show.

But yeah, it's a sad story in many ways - US (and the world) get fucked this way, and this guy essentially sacrificed himself for what he thought a just cause and so far his sacrifice doesn't seem to have changed much. Sad indeed.
 
The worst part is we can't do a fucking thing about it. The only thing people care about is who Kim Kardashian is fucking and how many kids Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have.

Snowden's a pretty crazy conspiracy theorist who thinks that welfare should be eliminated and old people should have to work to their deaths to support themselves so in my opinion nothing of value was really lost.
 
Well it's just another chapter of concealed fascism in the US, or well something that comes very close to it in my opinion. I mean when they are yelling and marching with uniforms trough the street it's always easy to spot them. And maybe or maybe not people would fight them. But when they hide behind words like defending democracy or fighting for safety and doing all in the name of hunting communists, terrorists or what ever else people fear, things become messy. Snowden is just another sad part in all of this.
 
Yes, the militarization of the police forces, and it's really not the S.W.A.T. units you should worry about, watch that one from Oliver as well. You won't be disapointed.

There was a time when being old meant something. :(

It meant that they were either dangerous as hell, or valued beyond price; each for their own reasons.
 
Yeah ... it's the same here really. No clue why though! But they really hate old people, as far as jobs goes, at a certain age you have almost zero chance to find a new job. And I don't even know why, god knows the German society is one that is aging very fast! THis will lead to many problems in the future, unless people finally start to change their mind and give old people more value.
