The division of Caesar's Legion

TheHouseAlwaysWins

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
I have an idea for a future fallout game which involves the player 50 years after the events of Fallout New Vegas in which Caesar has died and without his leadership, the legion divides itself into several petty kingdoms all lead by former high ranking legion officials or other people who got into power somehow.

So the game would follow you learning about these kingdoms, their cultures, and their interperatations on Caesar on his past ideology. You, the player, would get to decide which kingdom would get into power and would also have to deal with the NCR and their expansion and the new Khan state in Wyoming.

I am wondering what do you think of this idea for Fallout?

It is a nice idea.......partially, because I'm not a fan of a new NCR / Legion showdown. But the Khans could be a worthy foe.

But having several tribes, each with a specific feature of the Legion is pretty cool.

One might even be inclined to technological advances, as if the failure of the old Legion was the refusal to use technology like robots and chems.

Could be neat. Would also like to see the NCR going through it's own decline as well though.

So the NCR is going through a rut but they're not really unstable like the Legion is.

Oh no not tribes I mean kingdoms actually.

I'd say by the time of Fallout Four. The Legion will fracture.
- Vulpes will lead one
- Aurelius will lead another
- One or two Century (A company of 100 men strong Legionairy) might try to find former legate Malpaise and ask him to rejoin the Legion... a possibility of 'Byzantine' Legion led by Christian leadership
- And regardless of what happened in The Commonwealth (Either the Brotherhood of Steel won or lost, or the Last Maxson alived or died there). The Eastcoast BoS will expand westward and re-exert its control over the midwest (either Ohio valley or maybe as far as Cheyenne). with this scenario (Look how strong the BoS in Fallout 4 is, and with addition to a fleet of airships). the fractured Legion might either fall or absorbed to the BoS. if there's enough Centuria defected to the Brotherhood. they might as well reach the Mojave and reconnect with the local BoS chapter there.
The System within the Legion is the weakness unto itself.

Wouldn't 50 years be too long though? Maybe a decade, 50 years would be enough time for a fracture, split and collapse altogether.

^ Yep I think so. and eventually the BoS (which now led from the stabilized Capitol Wasteland and with that power to invade The Commonwealth, Midwest might as well annexed by the BoS) will replace the Legion
