I hate the Legion because they're not as flexible or open as Rome was; they're not Rome. They're an army of slaves built on Rome cosplay. The Romans would had adopted guns, squad based tactics, and tech without a second thought, while then fighting the cultural issue behind doors and in open forums (and maybe stabbing a senator or two).
