The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Runs like shit apparently according to steam negative reviews. The usual for Bethesda.

Didn't find anything about the level scaling being changed, the combat being made less bad (improved animations hardly matter when the combat is so braindead and boring), or any improvement to the RPG systems. So same old shit with a bad coat of paint, lovely.

Yeah I noticed a lot of Oblivion'isms in the little gameplay I watched, like when an NPC is in the way of another NPC's pathing they just walk and push their player model to the side while the pushed one stands stationary.

Problem with Oblivion is that a lot of issues aren't apparent at the start (unless you know where to look and are already critical of the game) and only becomes REALLY problematic like 20 hours into the game. And oblivion, unless you rush the main quest, is a chonker of a game to play.

Level scaling is not the same as leveling system. Level scaling is enemies automatically leveling alongside you, making any progression worthless. And in the case of Oblivion you actively get weaker instead of stronger because enemies get way more stats per level than you, so not even 10 hours in and enemies are just damage sponges.

LMAO, they didn’t even merge the plugins.

I think the trick was to do the opposite, pick unused main skills and never level them up, then level up your real main skills so you're max level in swords or axes or whatever and kill everything in 1 hit even though you're level 1?
Great system, ripe to remake with no changes.

Yup, that's the strategy to avoid the sponge bullshit not even halfway through a playthough. Haven't seen anywhere claiming this was changed in the remaster, so you have to deal with the old wack ass level scaling and fuck that.

In addition to refining gameplay, there have been tons of quality-of-life improvements to continue adding a modernized touch to 2006’s Game of the Year. The leveling system has been redesigned, inspired by both Oblivion and Skyrim, to offer the best of both worlds. Visual updates to UI and UX reflect contemporary gaming standards and hardware. New dialogue was also recorded for this Remaster. Where before some races shared voices, now each race represented in the game sounds unique, adding to the immersion.
Sounds like they did something to the levelling at least, so maybe that part is slightly less stupid.
I can't tell if they recorded all dialogue again or only tweaked it though.

Leave every game outside of Fallout 3 the fuck alone, Bethesda. I don't want you smearing those games with your garbage ass Unreal Engine 5 bullshit.
In the FCC filings there was another project named Platinum, which means that we’re probably getting F3 and FNV. Bethesda needs the cash.

You know, after seeing this shit, I AM SO GLAD NEW VEGAS WILL NEVER GET A REMASTER.

Seriously, if this is all they can for Oblivion, chances are it would be just as bad for New Vegas or worse.

This is just so damn funny. So, it's Oblivion, but on Unreal Engine, therefore no same modding capability as either Skyrim, 3 or New Vegas.

It looks like someone straight out copied the art style from Baldur's Gate 3, but worse. I hope, no, PRAY that is just as much of a failure as Starshit. Then again with the likes of MrMatty plays sucking off bugthesda they will be praised for doing the absolute bare minimum.

It reminds me of Warcraft 3 Reforged. Anyone remember that disaster?

This shit was most likely rushed out the door because how heavily panned that garbage Starfield expansion (and really Starfield base game as well) was, so they are desperate for money.

Also, it's real this game has no mod support. That's just a sure-fire way for this thing to die really fast, mods have carried these games for decades.

I would say that i feel bad for Bethesda, but my sympathy instantly evaporates after remembering they destroyed two beloved RPG series.
