the first time u played FO1 or FO2

Duckman

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
i was just wondering if anyone actually ENJOYED either fallout when they played it first time??

the reason i ask is that all of my FO friends (yes only 2 of them due to me being in the land of Australia) hated the game first time around. it eventually grew on them and now we still play it day in day out.

so just your thoughts on if u enjoyed the game first time and how it grew onto u to become the sickest game out

I fell in love with the game the second I spoke with the Crypt who stood guard outside proto-Junktown and creamed my pijamas the first time Rayze gunned down some poor sod with his minigun. I have thoroughly enjoyed almost every minute I ever spent playing Fallout.

I hope "u" find my answer satisfactory.

I loved it the first time i played even though i didn't even come close to exploring the depth of the game. For example, when i saw that seth outside of shady sands had a rifle i tried to steal it, he caught me, i killed him, took the rifle and ran and never returned to shady sands. little did i know that there were a lot of quests that i missed out on there...

I played Fallout 2 before I played the original, so I always liked it better. I loved the game the moment I got out of the temple of trials. In my opinion that's the only bad part of the game.

Yeah... I enjoyed it. It was the best game I've played till then, and it's still the best game I ever played.

I don't see how Fallout can grow on you, though. To me it seems like a love it or hate it game. Unless maybe you can't figure out what the hell is going on the screen and you have to try several times to get a grasp.

Oh, and a filter for "u" seems necessary, yes.

There used to be one, but it was causing problems with... uh, something. Anyway, it had to be deactivated. A pity.

I don't think there ever was a filter for u. But besides that, methinks it rather common for a u to be used seperately, for completely different reasons than laziness.
Which is why the 'ur' filter is sometimes annoying, you can't, for instance, refer to a certain city because of it.

Duckman: Yes, actually, I thoroughly enjoyed Fallout the first time I played it. As did I enjoy Fallout 2 (although the Temple got a bit annoying).
By the way, could you please refrain from using such shorthand forms as 'u', 'coz' and similar 'words'. They make you look dumber, and make your posts more illegible.

I'm pretty sure there was one, if only briefly, before you and I joined NMA.

Which is why the '{I'm trying to say your, you are, or you're, but I'm likely too stupid to know which to use.}' filter is sometimes annoying, you can't, for instance, refer to a certain city because of it.
Not to mention a certain faction in a certain game...

The 'sickest' game out? That's as bad as the 'u' usage.

I like calling "cool" things shwank, tight, or fucking fantastic. That isjust me though..... and I say you, not "u". That wouldn't be shwank or tight at all. 8)

I first played the demo... countless time, so I was overjoyed when I found Fallout in the budget bin in some store near the german border. When I first played it I loved it. Same with Fallout 2.

When I first played F2, I weren't in love from the first sight, it came after a few char re-creatings later, when I already know some of the plot, and how to make my destroyer of the world.

Fallout was actually the first game I ever completed (after only two days of playing, get that), so needless to say I loved it from the start and will love and worship it forever and ever.
(It was not the first game I purchased or played, though. That honour goes to Age of Empires, but I never finished the campaigns.)
I read about a sequel to Fallout, but could not find it anywhere for years. Played Tactics when it hit the shelves and felt satisfied for a while. Then I found that dual jewel box and purchased it immediately. I played Fallout 2 non-stop for about two months, I guess (I was still without a job back then). Loved everything about it and still do.
Although everyone knows Arcanum is a much better, deeper and satisfying game.

When I first saw Fallout, I've thought: 'No way! I ain't gonna play in a game like this!'...
But one day (6 months later), when I was bored, I played in it a little bit longer, then the first time...
Then I fell in love  ...

First time I played Fallout I gave up way early. One day a friend of mine told me he had found the chip, but the game didn't end and I didn't believe him at all so he showed me the cathedral and I was stunned. So I started playing again and played through the game.

Damn... it was the same for me O_O

I played the Chinese version of fallout2 for the first time, so I didn't encounter many problems, though I've missed too much hidden issues, I still enjoyed the game.

The first time I played Fallout I was 10 years old(back in 1997), so I'm not sure I understood what was going on as I do now. I loved it, though.

It continued to grow on me over the years. Weee.
