Don't have a mixing desk so i just used my headset microphone.. didnt sound nice, but its understandable.
Before I bought myself a mixing desk, I used Line6 POD XT to record live instruments. Of course, that costs some money too, so I recommend you buy a cheap mixer with one track only. But there is this Line 6 POD Express, for around $50. You can use it as your pocket guitar amp and a mixer
Since i cant use Logic Pro, could you reccomend some software used for composing without live instruments.
Cubase
And yeah, I'm searching everywhere for good organic sounding sampling libraries, most of them sound too cold, to "perfect" etc. I wonder which Samples Mr. MM uses...
Most of FL Studio's synths sound like that, that's why I hate this software.
When I was using Cubase (before Logic) I had this sound card called "Proteus X". It had some good VST plugins.
But y'know, mostly you have to twitch and mix those instruments and synths by yourself, to get more original and better sounds.
Also, this Synthesizer in the Modoc Track, do you know which synth that could be, Public?
Have no idea. I'm not so into synth's specification yet. Only know one synth at the moment
But possibly he used one of the software instruments and twitched it a little, to receive this "warm" and rich sound. In one of my tracks- "Muerto", I used a similar sounding instrument. You can hear it at the beginning.
Damn, you guys are making me want to cook some music now. Everything is boiling inside of me...
