The key to a galactic wide empire....

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I know I used this in my Mutants Rising application but i wanted to post it here also to discuss this...

As i also said in my application I must give thanks to the trusty windows calculator for allowing me to do the calculations within 20 minutes :D.

The key to a galactic wide empire....
The Milky Way galaxy is ~90,000 light years wide. If you have a galactic wide empire you can't wait 90,000 years for news about what's happening on the other side of the galaxy. So I've figured out that to be able to have a reasonable amount of time for news and etc. Humans would need to discover a way to fly 800,000 times the speed of light. Divide 90,000 by 800,000 and you'll get 0.1125. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second. So then muliply 186,000 by 90,000 and you'll get the ~ width of the galaxy in miles. Write down the answer to that. Then divide 90,000 by 800,000 again and multiply that by 0.1125, you'll get the EXACT answer you got for the width of the galaxy. 0.1125 represents how many years it would take to travel across the galaxy. Multiply 0.1125 by 12 and you'll get 1.35 which is how long it would take to travel across the galaxy at 800,000 times the speed of light. This is A BARE MINIMUM estimate for what you should get. 800,000 times the speed of light is the time needed for regular news, if there was a war you can't wait a week to a month and a half time to wait for news of your progress to reach the home planet(s) and then another week to a month for updated battle plans to be sent back. So I recommend 800,000 times the speed of light as a BARE MINIMUM speed for a galactic wide empire. But for an efficient system I recommend about 10,000,000 times the speed of light. Which is 1,860,000,000,000 miles per second. Which would take only 0.108 which is only about 7 or 8 days to travel the entire span of the Milky Way galaxy. But there is a catch to going this fast. There is a theoretical bend in time, if we were to travel that fast, theoretically, it would bend time so much that it would open a rift in time and your ship would go through it. You could Potentially come out at some point in the future or past. Or you might never come out since it might just keep bending and never bend back to your position which would theoretically leave you trapped in nothing for all of eternity. But, then theoretically you'd be something in nothing which would cause the creation of a parralel universe. Then if you did come out in the future that would prove that predestination exists and everything that happens in history and future is set in stone and could never change to something else. And if you ever came out in a time when you weren't meant to be you'd cause the destruction of time, which in essence would spell the end of our universe and ALL parralel universes simultaneously. There would literally be NOTHING. But then again that's theoretically impossible because there would have to be something like a black or white backdrop, and all the space between the sides would be something. So then theoretically we could just join the universes together possibly causing immense damage to everything from the energy created by not only 2 universes joining together. But an infinite number of universes joining together. Which would be another paradoxical event in itself because it would increase the size of "the universe" infinitely. This is paradoxical because the universe we know is already theoretically infinely large. So it's impossible to say for sure what would happen in these types of events. All we can do is speculate.

Don't you remember Day 1 orientation?! I told you that you were only a political figure head for me!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you even think about bossing around a guy that wields an image, of Mr. T no less, clearly stating that he is THE KING?

So... this is a nice enough thread to hijack... 8)

What are you people going to do today?
I hate Sundays, but I might actually venture outside on this one and buy an ice-cream or something. Maybe read a book while sitting in the sun. On the other hand, I might just try and finish that game of Arcanum that I begun two weeks ago.

So... what about you guys? You guys going to look for the key to the galactic empire, or what? :D

The key to having a galactic empire is either to have some kind of warp travel device or for man to evolve into a non-physical psychic entity that does not totally exist in time and space but still has the power to bend reality and return to an entropic state if one wants to.

Go random tangents!!!

What will I do on Sunday? It has already been Sunday in Australia and I didn't really do anything new unfortunately. I walked to the beach, went for a swim in the 19C winter water, watched some docos and listened to music while surfing the net. Somebody stop me procrastinating now! I have eight huge assignments to do in three weeks. What are the odds that I can do them?

If you have an intergalactical empire, than I doubt that you alone control all military wings of it.. (played to much warhammer 40k eh?), it would be rather the job of local administrators to do this.

Sunday... what a boring day.. all shops closed, and the weather sucks... so I'm not going to do much in fact

At least someone has common sense :ok:

What if I don't want to have a Galactic Empire? What if I'm content with the Earth Empire I am about to establish? What if my first decision as new tyrannical Emperor of Earth will be prohibition of any form space travel and related scientific research?

Is it me or this thread is surprisingly similar to the beggining of the dark matter one?

Meh.
Woke up at 2PM today. Just had a "Sunday Family Dejeuner". Good steaks. Other than that, I'm out to down a few beers in an hour or so.
Then, I'll have to finish a scrapmetal statue and glue some prints onto a solid cardboard.

By the way, empires suck.

No. The beginning of the Dark Matter thread was scientifically correct. This one isn't. Tsch.
