The Obligatory "What are you listening to" Thread

Sting - The Hounds Of Winter

I'm going to post this over and over and over and over again until everybody loves this song as much as I do.

I had forgotten how good this one is.

I'm probably in a nostalgic mood tonight...

I like Sting, and I like that album, but it wouldn't really have occurred to me to single that song out way above the others.

Collide - Tempted (Conjure One Mix)

I listen to Conjure One, but not Collide.

I was thinking about starting another thread where you can only post songs or artists that you think are great that you learned about in this thread. This would be to see if this thread is anything but people randomly shouting out titles and having no effect on the world whatsoever except maybe when someone mentions a song that someone else already knew about (in which case there is a "yeah!!" post). But I couldn't start it since I never bothered to check up on anything that was mentioned here - I mean, seriously, 153 pages and then choosing something at random, how good is that gonna be? NOT VERY GOOD considering most people's music sucks.

AWESOME!

I'm so totally going to abuse the YouTube feature. I'm such a revolutionary!

It's a drummer thing. Vinnie Colaiuta is a great drummer, but if there's any one song that shows how to make a song truly live it's that one. As Pat McDonald (drummer of the Charlie Daniels Band) said 'Vinnie's track sounds like it just grabbed the
tune in a big hug and held it all together from beginning to end.'
Also, the crescendo and decrescendo snare rolls in the beginning and end of the song are sickeningly perfect.

And more non-standard tunes for me:

The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Sander, that was blasphemy!

Show the people what they have a right to see!

Oh gosh...

George Harrison was only missing there because it was a tribute concert to him.
I like the version I posted more than the one you posted, though. The original Beatles version (non-acoustic) is still the best one.

Jumping on the While my guitar gently weeps bandwagon. Check out this awesome performance by Jake Shimabukuro and Tommy Emmanuel.

I love Richard Ashcroft. Even his solo albums were awesome.

Can't wait for this to happen.
