The Obligatory "What are you listening to" Thread

Madness - Ultimate Collection

An old friend from uni introduced me to grime a couple of months ago and ever since then I've been completely intrigued by it. It's a very raw flow, very different from American hiphop tradition, and the themes are always dark and gritty, very urban, very now. Devlin is one of the biggest names in the scene. He's like a better version of Eminem, someone who actually has something to say.

Check it out.

This track is classic and it shows some of the best Dogenham mc's:

Gentleman Jesse and His Men - You Don't Have To If You Don't Want To

(Apparently, there's not a single embeddable recording or video of this song anywhere on the net with a half-decent sound quality.)

Been listening to it for the last 15 nminutes, over and over.

The Clash - Ghetto Defendant.

It has Allen Ginsberg reciting a poem in the background while The Clash do their thing, a strange but fantastic combination.

I always get a headache listening to Captain Beefheart. But I do like it.

Listening to grime as usual. Rolled another one and put on "Military Strenghts" by Devlin and Dogzilla.

It just works so well on pot.
