THE PUNISHER Warzone w/ Titus Pullo !

I think Thomas Jane looks better if you're trying to depict him as the Punisher would look in real life. Ray Stevenson looks better if you're trying to give him a look that's more accurate to the comics. Jane was believable, Stevenson has a look that screams comic book over-the-top muscle head. I respect him as an actor and I think he can pull it off. They're both good choices for different reasons.

While it could have been better, I actually liked the original. Too many movie heroes finish the villain with a quick gunshot to the head. That's too damn merciful, this guy has been torturing puppies for 90 minutes, and then when he's finally offed it's so quick he doesn't even realize he's been killed. I wanna see the villain suffer, I want him to know he's been defeated and realize that fucking with the hero was a huge mistake. I liked the Punisher because he actually PUNISHED the villain and then gave him a humiliating death that let him know who's in charge now. I find that satisfying overall.

Still, it could have had more action. Though the new one looks like it will have more it doesn't show us much. The whole chandelier thing strikes me as a bit cheesy and is my biggest concern about the quality of this movie.

I really liked it, apart from the aforementioned nu-metal and the fear that it might look a little bit too "Planet Terror". Still, fucking up baddies is what The Punisher is all about, and there's certainly a lot of that here.

That's not nu-metal, that's a shitty remix of a badass hardcore band called Ramallah.

Also I think the grainy stuff is just for the trailer footage. Probably won't look like that in the actual film.

The grainy stuff was only part of it, some of those headshots turned into jello looking stuff.

Didn't know about that. Sounds cool. Welcome Back, Frank was awesome and no one writes Frank better than Ennis.

I would rather have him stay on as the MAX writer, but I'll take whatever I can get.

did he put his fist through someones face at around 50 seconds in...is that what the F i just saw?

As an Edit, I really liked Green Street Hooligans, so this should be interesting.

Oh... My... god... I was all happy to see Polo again and then I saw the rest of the movie... BAD ACTING... BAD DIALOG... BAD WRITING... bad, bad, bad...

I understand Castle, is set in his ways and in order to be true to the comic book he can't be very emotional but classically, character conflict makes good screen play and there was none of that. If they would have let Polo turn on the crazy works, it would have made for a more captivating film.

In addition to making the punisher a bit more alive, the rest of the characters could have used a bit of a touch up themselves. Dialog REALLY could have used some touch up... I was extremely disappointed with the villains... so, cheesy, or amateurish.

SPOILER ALERT:

Close to the end one of the main characters blurts out that her husband and herself used to argue whether he (punisher) was a good guy or bad guy... THAT'S IT! no explanation as to why the hell she just said that! ...

Owning nearly every punisher comic book and the entire scratch and sniff card set from the 90's I was pretty disappointed. I would go so far as to say that the previous movie was MUCH better... Even Dolph Lundgren's 80's Punisher movie was in some ways (very few) better than this... Now, I need a 5&1/4 drive so I can play "The Punisher" by Paragon Software circa 1990... Hopefully, it will wash the bad taste out of my mouth...

"My God man can't you see? This is a result of your five-year killing spree! You've weakened the bosses to such a degree they can't protect their own families! "

That movie was EPIC if only for the drunk rhyming hobo he got his intel from.

MUHAHAHAHAHA THE GORE!!! IT'S AWESOME!! I NEED MOOOOOAAAAAR!!!!

10000000 out of 10. Fuck it, I don't NEED to SEE the movie to tell that it's FUCKING HARDCORE, man!

Every movie should have a drunk rhyming hobo named Shakes.

They all especially need a scene where the main character lures said hobo to him with a beer mounted on a RC car.

The movie is this.

Garth Ennis' Punisher Knights goofiness, with a Planet Terror veneer (they really, really, rip off a lot of the visuals from Planet Terror) with Ennis' Punisher MAX character.

It's like, it was pretty good. Not what it should've been, but it was a good action flick.
