Does whatever variation on christianity you belong to denounce pot smoking, or does it just fall under some broader type of sin?

Weed is like alchohol it ruins the body and crap which is a bullcrap sin.
even though just about everything ruins bodies..even salad and apples probably.

I always thought of heaven as being in like a huge ass megacity or something but not being able to speak to jesus because he speaks israeli or whatever. I think it'd be cool to go to hell..but instead of being tortured for eternity he goes just like south park satan and you can get an apartment by a lake of lava and have hukalah days on friday

I know most religions seem like a waste of times but think of it like this..if these is no heaven or hell and I just wasted some of my time with this big deal..but if there is a hell non believers are screwed..so I'll take wasting a couple years of my life over the possibility for eternal torture anyday

I have always had a problem with that. It sounds too easy and I don't really buy into that. I personally think bettering youeself and living every day the best you can without causing too much shit on others is the way to go. I don't need the 10 Commandments (even though that is old testament) and the "golden rule" is a good general rule, but you don't need the Bible to figure that one out.

As for the heaven and hell thing-
I have always thought that those who pursue a faith merely to insure that they get a good place in the after-life, don't get it and their selfishness counteracts their achievement of a state of grace.

I have certain faith that God likes truth and that all this "Fear of God" crap, and "God is a jealous Lord" is a lot of bullshit designed by religious leaders to maintain their power.

If there is an all perfect loving God, as the Christians believe and which I think Jesus represents, that those kinds of ideas shouldn't play.

Fear of God and God is Jealous- don't really jive with a God that represents Unconditional Love.

A God that is about Justice and submission- kind of a more Islamic idea of God, ok. That's possible. But if that's the case, he's not a dude I want to worship. That's only a couple of steps up from Cthulhu in my book.
