GameBanshee have also previewed Fbos and this guy also thinks he know more than us (damn we must be wrong). Here's a snibblet:<blockquote>Now, I know that you’re probably upset that FBOS isn’t a straight-up RPG with more perks and skills than you can shake an iguana-on-a-stick at, but look at what FBOS has to offer before you bemoan its existence. </blockquote>Nope...Jesus man, try to investigate a little before making statements!
And not to forget the finishing statement in this preview:<blockquote>Overall, FBOS looks like a promising game. Fans of the original Fallout RPGs may need to keep an open mind and come to grips with the high improbability of Fallout 3 to enjoy it, but most console gamers should find themselves drawn into its quirky universe.</blockquote>Holy crap! We need to come to grips with the high improbability of a Fo3 to enjoy it ??
Someone throw this guy a clue will ya?

EDIT: Edited due to faint hearted guys over at GameBanshee. (Odin)

The amount of douche-nozzles in the gaming media astounds me. Everywhere you look, there's another moron who couldn't get a job at a real newspaper or magazine and wound up working for some gaming thing, even though they don't know a single thing about what they're talking about.

J3sus christ, I can't wait until the middle of January, when all these fuckers open their eyes.

It seems like these articles they put up on their pages just get worse and worse, that these authors actually call themself "gamers" and act like they actually played fallout(which they didn't, they were too busy picking their noses and scratching their asses doing shit) then coming on and just stealing news from their next-best competitor site and writing the exact same thing which basically tells us fans to "fuck off with your fallout3 because here comes fobos which we all love and endorse and oh so happy am I for now I will recieve A free dildo and A free copy of FOBOS in my mailbox in the spring".
Worst thing is that interplay is made up of these kinds of people too.

FUCK THEM.

OH AND:
"It’s too early to tell whether Fallout fans will accept the changes Interplay has made to the franchise, or whether its similarities to Dark Alliance will draw fans of that franchise into the Fallout universe. All early signs point, however, to a product that is likely to impress fans of third person shooters in general. "
*breaks out in mad laughter*

To be fair, most previews are positive in their write ups. Wait 'till you see a review you disagree with before getting all up in arms.

To be honest, guys...

...Maybe we are being a bit harsh? I mean...granted, it looks like shit, feels like shit, and probably is shit...but how do we know 100% it is shit?

Anyway...that's all I'm saying.

Let the flames begin! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THIS, ROSH!

(Just kidding...I lub joo Rosh)

we shopuld warn this idiots!!

somebody should warn those idiotic people like the 2 that graces the new game before they find themselves in the middle of the same sh@t list of several fans like interplay is!!

wtfwhatdidyousay.jpg

I'd have to go with Milky on what murdrax said...

As for the reviewer... He can eat shit for all I care. He's an idiot. Telling us what we should do... He's basically saying "Buy FO:POS if you want Fallout 3!!"

Rosh's sig comes into play here. That guy is straight up dumb.

There's a simple term for some of the otherwise no-talent people like those found in "professional gaming journalism" sites like GameSpy and the like.

Media Whores

Bri's right, previews are usually hopeful (like school reports) and the real bashing (in polite words) come in reviews. Of course, you still cant'believe the reviews.

Isn't it interesting how all these pro-BOS previews are all indignant about the crap we're giving the game, yet do not try to defend it with any good points? In fact, (real) FO-fan or not, who's going to be excited about BOS by looking at it? All you know currently is: cliché and unoriginal wasteland. all you do is run around shooting things. meet many thong chicks. They could have at least tried to promote its good gameplay points...

.... but then, maybe they didn't see any either.

I've got no problem with preview being positive, but posting shit like this is plain stupid. Oh and I got shit for it too, got an email from the webmaster at gamebanshee..

Snibblet:<blockquote>Come on, seriously. Over the past couple of hours, we’ve come under attack by a force of Fallout “fans” inspired by this ridiculous newsbit. Ass licking? Shithead? </blockquote>

I just lub picking fights with these guys.

HAHAHAH Classic!

edit: http://www.rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2328
these are the same idiots who gave ToEE 6/10
it's quite obvious they just pick their asses and fling shit at each other

Devil's advocate mode:
I DO have to give all of those guys one thing, though. They tend to point out that we shouldn't say it sucks just because it's not like Fallout and still uses the setting. It's kind of...silly, actually, INterplay DOES have the right to do whatever they want with the license, and if they bring out games whose setting absolutely sucks and has little to do with Fallout, then we should just say "Okay, it's all incorrect, but it's not actually a new Fallout, so...whatever."

Of course, all of that does not mean that the game should be any good. Just that we should judge the game on it's qualities(if it has any) and not on it's correctness within the Fallout world.
In the case of POS, this still would give it a .001/10, though.

Apples For Apples

Apples For Apples

This preview gropes for some balance ... if they write it as they see it, then the invectives of "fans of FO" should only add fertile inspiration to the compost of their world view.

... Since FBOS uses the Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance engine, the gameplay will be very familiar to fans of that series. ...

The point almost fingered is the TRUE progenitor of FO:BOS is BG:DA and not the FO's. Comparing apples to apples is a commendable parameter.

... The development team seems to understand the intensity of devotion to the Fallout fanbase and is adamant that serious care was taken to ensure that FBOS remains true to the spirit of the original Fallout RPGs and that contradictory information has been avoided at all costs. ....

WE have it out of Chuck Cuevas' own keyboard that they calculated it too much a bother to curry the canon and much more satisfying to "flip off' the fans and pound FO:BOS into their T and A vision of the post apocalyptic. Details be damned, they had a BG:DA engine to master.

Here the 'veiw is a conduit for the market'eering package. They done well to quote the propaganda source obliquely. Most "Run 'n' Gun" pre- and re- 'viewers may not bother to, or know how to, quote their sources.

... It’s too early to tell whether Fallout fans will accept the changes Interplay has made to the franchise, or whether its similarities to Dark Alliance will draw fans of that franchise into the Fallout universe. All early signs point, however, to a product that is likely to impress fans of third person shooters in general. ...

Blame my limited exposure, and shoddy attention span, but this is my first time seeing a 'viewer actually acknowledging the types that may actually buy this game. Am I being led down the lane? Say it ain't so ...

... So get ready to ingest some Rad-Away and pull out your giger counter, ‘cause Gecko Season is just about to reopen.

This last bit of sugar coating, defeats the illusion of balance.
This cute literary gasp at identifying the FO context is where apples to apples morph's to apples to ROAD APPLES. Allusions to FO like this are the clueless smoke that Interplay is betting will inflate the sales of their "smart money" choice of FO content. We are back to the perpetuation of a pretender. We have drifted away from comparing the ""balls out""
fever dream of Chuck Cuevas to other "Run 'n' Gun" console blood, gore, and cum feasts.

Just a thought.

POS comes out, starts selling like hot cakes, we're all shocked.

What will reactions be?
