Things that Fallout 3 did right!

Yeah man, we need to move on! Fallout 3 moved it away from awful turned based isometric combat so we could have awful gamebryo shooter combat! You just don't get it man, because you're a dinosaur.

Well, their DLCs weren't the typical money grabbing shit. We can argue about their quality, but at least for 10 dollars they actually offered more than 2 hours of a story experience instead of just pretty armors or skins.

True.

They may vary in quality, but all things considered, Bethesda didn't openly rip you (much) for this content, and in the end, GOTY edition was at least worth it, being a an actual full game (I'm looking at you, Mass Effect Trilogy).

Also, if I'd say something was a plus over FNV, it was the fact that FO3 never had those "weapon packs" or whatever you call them. They are cheap, sure, but if you ask me, they are over-the-top, really, and nothing modders couldn't implement in the first place.

fo3's DLC? every DLC did good job(though it's really boring) except broken steel. I don't think they do it on intentionally but it just look like they cut original game and sold it as a essential DLC.

and for weapon pack, cloth or horse armor, I don't think it's bad DLC. because it's optional things to buy. you don't have to buy it if you don't want. if you want? then buy. it isn't essential things to buy.

No mods on Xbox.

Also Gun Runners' Arsenal added a whole bunch of stuff and is well worth the asking price imo. My fully-modded Laser Pistol is indispensable with Optimised Ammo. It's leagues away from Horse Armour.

Actually, you're right.
I sometimes forget that FO3 and FNV are console titles.

I'm still not a fan of weapon mods, though. There are two many "unique" weapons which break teh immershun for me.

The biggest problem for me is that some of them are outright overpowered for the normal game and i dissagree with you about the modders. The modders can/are better than bethesda and Obsidian in many ways! Without the modding community every Fallout game but the first one "ish" and Tactics would not be that great and filled with bugs. Tactics is ok ish but even that game needed a mod or 2 to be really good.

Can't really think of another game serie with the same ammount of awesome modders out there.

My bad, I composed my last post badly.

I like modders too, all their work and everything. I respect some of them, and use their mods frequently.

What I meant my "mods" was actually those weapon packs mentioned, the additional content to which I was referring in the older post. I think that those can be bad for the gameplay (some of the weapons in the FNV weapon pack are outright ridiculous, and shouldn't have been there).

But I still see think 2house2fly's post is correct, and can agree with him that "it's leagues away from Horse Armour".

it's kind of legend.

for me actually better than broken steel.
because it isn't essecial DLC unlike broken steel.
it isn't that bad DLC for player since it's not essencial.
but it's stupid DLC for sale

Thankfully they haven't had that many bad DLC's since then.. That i know of! Only mothership zeta comes close to that!

No they made another bad DLC called hearth fire

That dlc was only bad due to mods doing the same thing but better.. if people likes to RP.. Or something? That dlc could be ok ish.

Dawnguard and Dragonborn are still quite groan-worthy in the rpg mechanics and writing department, however. Dawnguard in particular could perhaps even be worse than some of the FO3 dlc, and that says something.
