Things we learned from Fallout 4

Places like the Glowing Sea could of been interesting if done by somebody competent like say the people at Obsidian.

MFW there's Nuka Cola armor that exists let alone in a fucking theme park.

I am currently wearing it as I do some Far Harbor sidequests.

My God...it's so beautiful!

THANK YOU BETHESDA!

P.S. I am PISSED you can't put the Nuka Cola Flag up unless you have a flagpole or have a Nuka Cola Pip Boy outside of mods.

Oh and by the way...from real life.

What we're talking about is top-of-the-line prototype military equipment given to a theme park, instead of- you know- a fucking replica of it.
I think it would have made some sense if the armor was T-45d rather than T-51b of all things. Why waste a suit of top-range armor when there is a surplus of the older models out there (as the Capital Wasteland and random spawns imply)?

The Pre-War world is a exaggeration of existing one. The US military gives a lot of real life military equipment and cooperation to television shows, movies, and so on in order to promote their image. Top Gun basically exists as one long commercial for the air force as a result.

Showing off the shiny new tank-armor at Nuka World is a way to suck kids in.

What about the X-01?

;)

Yeah, I got nothing. Apparently, someone in the Capital Wasteland Enclave REALLY loved Nuka Cola Quantum.

Remember, it was only released there and in the theme park!

ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT A SECRET CABAL IN THE GOVERNMENT WOULD WILLINGLY HAND OVER PROTOTYPE TECH THAT THEY HAVE NEVER USED BEFORE TO A COMPANY WHO SPECIALIZES IN DRINKS AND IS SOMEHOW HELPING THE MILITARY WITH CHEMICAL WARFARE?! WHY NOT MAKE A DIFFERENT LOOKING SET OF T-51b OR T-45d THAT HAS UNIQUE FUNCTIONS AND ACCESSORIES?!

Well, it was a bad enough lore inconsistency that even most Bethesda fans are able to recognize it as a glaring lore inconsistency.

Well, time to unignore you. It was nice and peaceful not getting too many notifications on replies and all.

You have to admit that T-45d would be more appropriate for promotional materials plus it means that the US Military is not giving away an suit of cutting edge Power Armor to a theme park of all places.

Yay, I'm unignored! I'm special.

I confess, one problem I have with the game is it acts like the older model armor still isn't badass as hell. You could also have this armor have customized effects to make it interesting. Maybe extra damage resistance if you're under the effects of a Nuka Cola.

Hell, for the X-01 armor, they should have just used that damned T-60 armor if they wanted to do something uniquely Commonwealthy.

Not exactly, I needed a break from constant e-mail notifications (and you were posting rapidly so I kept getting e-mails all the time) so ignoring you meant that my e-mail client could rest for a bit.

that damned T-60 armor
That really is something that ought to have been done, it would have been less offensive to the established lore. It would have made far more sense than X-01 at the very least.

Fallout genuinely feels like someone actually didn't have nearly enough time to finish the game and so they patched it a huge amount.

There's four factions but only two endings.

The Institute, "You bastard!" ending where all your Companions hate you.

And the Minutemen/Railroad/Brotherhood ending where they all love you.

Even though that makes no goddamn sense.

I realize this is a Fallout 4 thread in the Fallout 4 section, but you might want to specify which Fallout you are discussing. You're a writer right?
Fallout 4 isn't "Fallout", it's Fallout 4.

What I learned from Fallout 4.

  1. Emil is a dogshit writer.
  2. No one has taken Sanctuary and made it into a settlement for over 200 years until the Sole Survivor came out of the vault.
  3. The Brotherhood are morons who destroyed the entire Institute rather than scavenged any tech from it (Which is their main goal).
  4. Humans can go super saiyan and regain their health when you're close to killing them or whatever.
  5. Synths (Mainly the Gen 3s) are an incredibly idiotic thing to use as a "what makes you human?" theme the game tries to introduce but completely fails at it.
  6. Kellogg is a half baked and poorly executed Benny.
  7. The voice acting sounds incredibly forced.
  8. Modding cannot save this game whatsoever.

Out of everything in Fallout 4 that's the only thing that doesn't make sense?

The treatment of Power Armor [nearly all aspect] doesn't make sense.

Ghouls don't make sense, with respect to the established series games.

The setting of FO3 & 4 do not make sense with respect to the established series games.
Bethesda offers a future 1950's, instead of a future influenced by 1950's beliefs, fears, and paranoia; (and that's a BIG difference).

I see your point.

But I still think they could've used something much better than Synths.
That was my point, even in the creation kit, there are no gen 1 or gen 2's, they are humans that happen to have synth components. My point is, whose to say there are gen 1 synths? Unfortunate Fallout 4 is such a bad game it isn't really worth discussing.
