Tim Cain staying at Obsidian

It takes a science skill of at least 85 but it's possible

A first person perspective-game a la Vampire: Bloodlines is more reasonable.

Ignoring what would be reasonable or not, I would probably kill myself it there would be just another First person RPG. :<

What project we are talking about now?

Because I really don't think they would go full camera 3D for a kickstarter.

What? If anything he said he prefers to work on proprietary technology. I don't know what the circumstances were for Bloodlines and the planned Arcanum sequel, but we're talking about years ago, and Troika was still doing their own engine for their post-apoc game that never was.

Well, as awesome as Vampire: Bloodlines (or even Deus Ex / Human Revolution), I don't mind such a game as long as it's not a shooter in the first place.

By programming the camera to be set in an isometric, arbitrary point, rather than tied to a specific avatar?

I did put together a rough concept for a tactical turn-based game set in the HL universe a while ago:

And Source is at the point where maps load ultra fast, system requirements are reasonable and it is possible to build very large levels in it.

If we're talking another Arcanum game (which would have to be published by ActiBliz and I dunno if Obsidian can convince them to do so), it would most likely be developed on Obsidian's own engine. Source is incredibly unlikely, that was just a result of deals at that time, not of any preference of Cain's or direction for Arcanum.

Gaming news is getting way to positive lately, need something from Acitivision saying it's banned RPGs forever to balance things out or something.

Activision makes RPGs? o_O

Last one they published was Vampire right?

Maybe, there is a god?
There is, and he hates Fallout and old school RPGs.

Last time I checked at least.

Why, with numbers and stuff of course.

I wonder what the price would be to buy the licensing rights back from ActiBliz, it's not like Arcanum was an ultra successful game, and the chance of a sequel being developed by ActiBliz = 00000.00

I honestly have absolutely no idea. It can't be more than Fallout, but otherwise I wouldn't have a clue.

If kickstarter funding means Obsidian will put out a complete and unbroken game that's worth my time, I am so in when it comes on-line.

They want to tag-team with others to spread the dev-fun around to get the job done better? Good.
