Time World's Most Influential Person

Is Moot

I would've assume that Time, upon checking their list and finding Moot at 1, Kobe Bryant at 9 (between Merkel and Moralez) and Lil' Wayne at 12, that it might be a good idea to put on the handbreak and maybe scrutinize their method. But they seem to think that somehow an internet poll is a meaningful method for this. Oh well.

Since this probably depresses the hell out of you (it does me), here's something to brighten your day: go to espn.com, enter the Konami code (up up down down left right left right b a for you noobs), hit enter. Keep hitting enter.

I get what you're saying, but still feel it's a moot point, lulz.

I hope that they use this for the cover:

Espn things does work anymore. Here's google cache that still works:

http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:ssdn4F46EEYJ:espn.go.com/+espn.com&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

Also copy paste this to your address bar and keep loading the address bar or clicking the unicorns to do it to any page:

javascript:(function(){var%20d=document,j=d.getElementById('__cornify_nodes'),k=null;
var%20files=['http://cornify.com/js/cornify.js','http://cornify.com
/js/cornify_run.js'];if(j){cornify_add();}else{k=d.createElement('div');
k.id='__cornify_nodes';d.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(k);
for(var%20l=0;l<files.length;l++){j=d.createElement('script');j.src=files[l];
k.appendChild(j);}}})();

Don't confuse this list with the 'Person of the year' ranking.

According to the article, the point of this list more or less is that you shouldn't take internet polls too seriously. That's why Time probably doesn't care at all if some kind of popular nobody wins.

it was hacked, obviously.

hell, they even made the first letter of every word in the poll to spell out a message?

anyhow, it's funny since moot is a douchebag good for nothin'. but he also represents an entire generation of hackers who do this stuff 'for teh lulz'.

4chan hackers win, Time looses.

How can he be influential, if I don't have a damn clue who that assbag is? I stumbled upon 4chan once and it was ghay. It has no effect on my life whatsoever. Or anybody else's from the people I know.

don't underestimate the power of 4chan trolls (and hackers).

i mean, like 25% of the internet memes come from that place.

Is that just some made up exagerated number or based on some actual facts ? :shock:

Oh yeah, it's been independently verified that over 9000 Internet memes originate from 4chan.

Can an internet meme really be qualified as influential?

The only one I would qualify would be rickrolling and only because Cartoon Network rickrolled all of NYC during the Thanksgiving Day parade.

Why can't 4chan just die, ffs I don't see what's so grand and or influential about it.

It's more than likely just a large collection of dickless little kids that wouldn't utter even a letter of anything they say on the internet to anyone.

If 4chan is 25% of the internet, I really do think the other 75% would be much better off without it.

Every once in awhile 4chan does something awesome like this but I still think that the trolling of Oprah was probably their best stunt (Scientology protests were awesome but a different beast). That said, they produce a hell of a lot of shit and retarded things so it's not like I'd be horribly depressed if they never existed but I think that at this point, the damage is done.

4chan is annoying as fuck, but annoying can be influencial.
anyhow, as said above, the poll was totally manipulated, so fuck no, moot wasn't the most influencial individual in the vote. that should be absolutely positively obvious to ANYONE with half a brain.

also thanksgiving troll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL-hNMJvcyI
