God damn I would love to go hunting with one of those full of frag rounds.

to put this in perspecitve, thats 400 rounds of non-recoil 3 meter explosions per minute with a maximum effective range of 150 meters.

If we went to war with these weapons and the appropriate logistics, we could utterly destroy an enemy army.

Or most importantly, fear alone would cause all our enemies to flee.

Provided the war would be fought at close quarters. Unlikely.

Good for a zombie invasion, tho'

The mini-grenade shells have a range of over 100m. That's not close.

That said:

YEEEHAW, I bet it kills dem terrorists straight good!

the frag shell can go 175 meters.

they also have the finned solid slugs.
i imagine those can probably go about as far as 100m also.

its beautiful that it can switch types of rounds, with a lot more versatility than a rifle.

infact, make something like this that would be analgous to the m203 on our assault rifles, except on the Israeli Tavor, and you have a compact high range fully automatic urban assault and siege weapon with all of the shotgun loads you can imagine.

Dream weapon, weeeeee.

automatic short or long range fire for any variation of 12 gauge shotgun shell or 5.56 bullet, with all the newer types of rounds included.

Close range = up to 300 meters.

An army's infantry equipped with this weapon as its main battle rifle would be slaughtered.

except the frag shell doesnt work as it should and costs 200 to 400$ a piece (depending on the version)?

also, the gun is too bulky. they should slim it down.

personally, i dont see why they're all so hyped up over thisone. sure, it has some nice features, like the supposed low maintenance and low breakage capabilities, but does it really justify the cost?
you can get a Saiga 12 for 300$ and a Molot Vepr12 for double that. they're both perfectly fine for the job... (and civilian contractors use the Saiga 12 in Iraq btw)

so: slim it down, get the price in check & then we'll talk.

PS: Future Weapons = shit

...Jesus Christ... I thought the rifle that could be dunked in water and fired at all 360 degrees of a circle was insane.

I pretty much agree with SuA on the size and price. And I'm pretty sure folks 'round wood jus uze it fo squirell huntin' and home dafance.
That's not intended to insult anyone but some people do have a gross justification for over powered firearms.

Couldn't agree more with that statement as well.

Ask a Marine wich weapon he trusts more and he'll say: M16

I once herd that an investigation was once conducted on Iraq because most of the kills made by the marines were head shots, and they wandered if they were executing prisoners.

Later it was found that this was not the case, and the reason was that the head was often the only uncovered part of the body left to shoot on most urban warfare situations. Most of the combat was building to building.

Now I don't think you can achieve that kind of accuracy at those ranges with a shotgun. You just need a good cheap 5.56 round to hit on the right place. It is called fire discipline, something the marines know only too well.

To further this I will say that you can carry a hell of a lot more 5.56 ammunition than you can carry those heavy shotgun shells, say 1500 vs 200 or perhaps 300?

So considering that you need one marine to operate the weapon and another marine just to carry the additional ammo, I would leave this shotgun on a support role only.

the shotgun shown was never meant to be used in any other role than CQB. and even then, it is only used by one member of a squad. special ammo for doorbreaching, buckshot for close up jobs, slugs for slightly extended reach and armored combatants, Frag-12 for explosive fragmentation by mini-grenades.

I know this Sua, I was just giving an answer to this this:

I know, I should have quoted it on my previous post to begin with.

You mean as badly as the Polish?

Netherlands: Blitzkrieg'd in four days, Dutch lost ~7,500 soldiers, Germans ~4,000 dead, ~3,000 wounded, ~2100 MIA or captured.

Poland: 36 days of regular warfare, Poland lost 66,000 soldiers with 134,000 wounded, Germans lost 16,500 soldiers with 28,000 wounded.

You didn't even last a week, n00b.

Spinning pink Jesus in a disco bar. My point is in my first post, i also do not know why i'm forced to explain myself more and more.

YES, i know that GUNS are not the only things that make people die. They are, however, the kind of items that are SPECIFICALLY created to make people die. Hence, i always raise my brows up a little when i see a person who gets a gigantic hard-on about them. I consider them weird.

That's all.

maybe its a sexual fetish?
I've heard of weirder.
Yesterday I read a news article about a fetish that is, literally "dragons having sex with cars"
no joke.
I saw porn for it.

For some reason, watching that FutureWeapons guy talk reminds me of the whole board with a nail in it speech...

Alien: Sure the humans have beaten us now, but they'll make bigger boards with bigger nails... until the day they make a board with a nail in it so large, it will destroy them all!
