Todd Howard on X-Play

Also, I wonder how many of these so called gaming journalists could possibly get a journalist's job at a serious newspaper. Somehow I feel it is not a very large percentage. Does the word objectivity ring a bell? Anyone?

Objectivity at serious major newpaper Guardian left wing political leanings anything owned by rupert murdoch right wing, both serious newpapers but both lacking this mythical thing you call objectivity.

On another note if that X-Play dude was basically being any more of a "next-gen" fanboy asslicker he would basically be a roll of X-box brand toilet paper.

Ok enough with the ridiculous personal attacks and on to what was actually said.

Having had more time to work with the engine and the various platforms has doubled the effective amount of stuff on screen at once.

He mentioned that there are 13 skills in the game, down from 14 previously.

Skill with weapons affects both damage output and weapon accuracy. The balance between the two was moved more towards the damage scaling since artificially created bad aim was extremely frustrating. (I'm kinda iffy on this one, I'll have to see how it works in practice though I do recall BN saying the way weapons sprayed everywhere but the target seemed kinda weird)

Some areas will have a larger level range than other, though presumably all will be locked once you enter em.

I'm sure I'm missing some other things but those were the new things I noticed.

Really wonder if the creatos of those gmaes he ist the mastermind behind, now are angry about not doing it the Sid Meier way, by putting their names in front of Fallout or some other thing like that... ;)

On the rest, again let's wait and see... if we ever gonna see something outside of 'Press-Only' booths ;)

I'll wait until E3 to watch some footage of the game and then seal all my hopes for decent Fallout game in a vault, never to be heard again.

Off topic: Your signature reminded me just how much industry is rapping Jagged Alliance games. Fans, myself included, have given up any hope of seeing a decent JA3 game. Mods are all we have.

On one hand, I am seriously annoyed by that statement about him being the "Mastermind".

On a scale of 1-10, how serious would you say your annoyance is?

We could also go with a color-coded system, if that's more your bag.

I thought Todd Howard had pretty decent answers in that interview, until he started talking about the weapons :

"Hey, it's Fallout, let's show some nukular explozionz !"

and that lunchbox thingy....

I'm not quite sure about the vacuum-gravity-gun yet.

It's somewhat annoying, but for me it's not as annoying as not living together with some nice swedish masseuses who like THAT kind of massage...
Might come from the fact that i somewhat like possibilities to pull off stupid things like the masseuses thing ;)

Color coded by the way it would be a deep purple with small neon green spots in it.. hope that helps you ? ;))

Ja isn't getting raped that baldy i think... Hired Guns is quite okay if you don't have high expectations, and i think it will get a few more bugfixes and such (and even be released someday in other countries as russia ang germany)...
But yeah, i'm also sad about what's happening with it, and that the russian companies seem not to care much about it.

Let Them Eat ...

Let Them Eat ...

Cimmerian Nights:
... Hey, Fallout was too smart for it's own good, but not to worry, the mastermind who put training wheels on TES is here to do the same to Fallout. ...

That's one masterful opinion on parade,
excellent in encapsulating the design concept of easy access,
while hinting at the continental drift of cognate immersion into the mystical confinement of left brain / right brain hemispheres.

The marketing Kool-Ade has proclaimed the *simulated* eye hand activity as the one true immersion(tm).
Scissors, paper, rock strategies slide into a dismal swamp of RTS tank rushes.
Anticipating some rock star demigod, hooked on the free ride, when questioned:
why FPS's must all be the same lowest common denominator to sell - god mode hard wired - training wheels ftw,
why RPG strategy elements seem too difficult to integrate into gameplay, global causality too tough to code.
Anticipate the once successful team leader -- > now the walking icon of the 'Furher Principle' to pontificate --->
Let them eat ... chess.

@ BodyBag

I like the flash and panache of hired scribbler ratings.

Suspect that the best of the most irrationally exuberant advertisement copy writers to be branded with 0 - zeroes and 1 - ones,
your base 10 hierarchy might de-evolve into the base 2 binary! ;-)

Your timing, dear Briosafreak, is once again very accurately off by two minutes.

Don't understand, what?

I found it and started listening to it almost exactly 2 minutes before your post (and hence newspoted 3 minutes after your post).

's not the first time you point out something while I'm newsposting it.

We're just that well-attuned. We're like Bouhlarouz' foot and Christiano Ronaldo's thigh.

The second shot he is blinking and the first shot there's not much to look at so I think the guy just doesn't like making eye contact and - likes... staring at peoples' chests? I don't know.

That's what I was getting it. You can see in the interview that he blinks up a storm. IRRITATING CONTACTS, OR A DAMAGED SOUL, WRACKED BY GUILT!?
