Todd say about Oblivion: Xbox 360 vs. PC...

We already know there will be a console version of Fallout 3. That's how they work, console/pc, no reason they wouldn't do the same for Fallout 3.

Great..now my hope of 'Fo3 PC exclusive only!' dream is dead..

It almost clunks the notion that it'll be top-down isometric in style right on the head (if the fact that they're using the oblivion engine didn't already do that). Trying to play those types of games on a console is an absolute pain the ass.

It also brings up the question of how on earth they'd even set about making it TB using an First Person/Third Person combo? It's possible but it'd mean some horrible mechanic whereby the player is locked in some form of stance when combat initiates.

Yep, it's screwed.

Shit i hate consoles. The graphic is so "unsharp" everything is so round. And the controls... :?

PC = FPS, RPG, Strategy, RTS

Console = Adventure/RPG ( Zelda/Final fantasy ) Sport & figthing.

Howard: Again, it depends on their setup. If they have the absolute latest PC with a video card that is fully shader model 3.0 compatible and a giant HD monitor, they're about the same. The question is, can they get all of that for $399? And does it let them play Geometry Wars? That game rules.
Inane assertions of this sort are truly disheartening. Woe is us.

This whole "It's only $399!!!!! OMFG!!!" thing is still as annoying as anything. What kind of idiot spends $400 on a console and twice that amount on a television and says it's cheaper than a simple video card upgrade? No one seems to want to mention that the regular old shitty tv you have lying around isn't going to magically develop 10x the resolution once you plug a 360 into it. Who the hell is buying HDTV's, anyway? "Holy Shit!!! I can see the pores in the guys face this tv is fuckin awesome!! The fact that I can see every single blemish crisply and clearly sure makes this shitty cliche melodrama I'm watching a hundred times better!" I mean, what the fuck, really?

I think the majority of video game players must have no idea about how easy and cheap it is to build your own computer. That's the only explaination I can think of; to them, "upgrade" must mean "buy a new $2000 Dell and throw my old $2000 Dell out of the window", that's the only way their logic can make any sense.

I love the whole "LAWL LMAO BUY AN EVEN EXPENSIVER XBOXTHREETIXTY KTHX" thing. I prefer having spent six hundred quid on my PC for endless hours of fun and general usefullness, plus having the option to create and load mods for Oblivion, making my value for money never cease.

I have to say, though, that a HDTV really does add a lot to the X-BOX360. A housemate of mine has both, and recently got digital TV because of it.
Really, High-definition content can look really stunning. And in the case of movies, this is not a waste. It's a priority issue. What do you want to spend your money on?

The compromise could be a ~21" LCD panel , which covers the HD standard and could be applied both to a console and PC. With LCD technology increasing rapidly and falling prices it ( IMO ) is a great choice. Personally, my preferred device is PC , but some people would prefer a console. It depends. Yet it would be defilement if fallout 3 will be developed to work on console ( and it would limit capabilities of the PC version).

Something tells me that if there is not a revolution soon(no reference to nintendos new console) then game consoles wont make it past 3 more generatioons

It all started downhill when microsoft said "Mee too"

I am afraid of the exactly opposite possibility.Pc gaming might not be around after 3 more generations, with the exception of MMORPG's.

The 720P from XBOX 360 is a resolution of 1024/768 in , it isn't a big deal for a computer monitor, but since TV screens are bigger it looks nicer.

I ment good games, like the MGS and GTA series and stuff. The world will be populated by things like "50 Cent 6: Holier then Thou muthafucka"

I actually had a conversation with someone at work about how something that was traditionally exclusive (but in a bad way) like gaming suddenly became the "it" thing, the quality and thought put into the making of games declined, because the audience widened. Why do you think sports games sell so well, year after year?

Gaming is no longer just for geeks, nerds and technophiles. And the way it looks now, the PC is in decline. I fervently hope that that trend does not continue.

I guess the question for us is, who should we linch first? Microsoft or Sony

The morons who created counter-strike.
the simple fact that it's still so popular so many years after the release, in an era filled with flashy graphics and naked chicks suggests that the creators of CS were hardly morons...
