Adding him is achieved by seducing, getting into his pants, then having sex with him, (the usual fade to black, except that in this case, the player's entire inventory ends up on the ground) and then marrying him (in a shotgun ceremony).

I'm not aware you can rape Davin, you can have sex with him by seducing him. You can try (I don't know if the PC succeeds) to rape Miria, though.
 
Just going to throw in my 2 cents.

Being that the game is set in a world filled with anarchy and violence, rape is bound to happen. I don't think there should be an option in the game to rape, no way would that ever be allowed into the markets these days, but instead there should be implications of it happening. Maybe throw in a situation where your character stumbles upon a band of raiders/thugs attempting to assault a female wastelander. What you choose to do when you find this is up to you.

No, it isn't rape, it's failed seduction if you have less then the required charisma. You don't try to force her to do anything, but she sees it as attempted rape and calls for her father.

Just because.

The main character is supposed to kill people. He can enslave them, eat them, drink their blood, torture them - just whatever.

But the moment he, a video game character, rapes someone - you've got an army of feminists on your shoulders, crying "rapists!!!!", marching around your buildings, etc. They are like being serious about "rape is worse then killing". I mean it.

Just check the story behind the Japanese game "Rape Lay". It has been simply BANNED in U.S. due to the pressure. Now everyone is simply too afraid of trying to do the same in the game. The only thing you can hope for is mods - and I doubt they even end up on Nexus.
 
Going a little OT here but the thing that bother me is the fact that i can't think of any racism in the Fallout game besides vs ghouls and mutants.

Seems like the nukes made us more tolerant? :wink:

I'd think it'd make more sense if there were hostilities between, say, two tribes or two settlements. It's likely that both are populated with Caucasian and Afro.

There might, however, be hostilities between the Americans and the Sino people. I don't remember a whole lot of tension between Hubologists/Vagrants and the folk of San Francisco (who were fighting between themselves) though.

I think that the presence of ghouls and mutants is what exactly made between-human racism almost disappear in the Fallout world. Humans are much more alike, regardless of the race, then those two new sub-species. It's perfectly logic, IMO. Racism has found new targets, that's all.

OTOH, I suppose that this new society, being on the verge of extinction for a long time, would develop almost zero tolerance to gays. So I personally find those references to men-to-men relationships in the Legion a bit unrealistic.
 
From what I've read, the Legion punishes homosexuality with death, according to Jimmy, and the reason for those accusations against them is an attempt to slander them.
 
I like how a lot of you are putting the words 'rape' and 'tastefully' in one and the same sentence.

Its not uncommon for a woman to get a guy drunk in order to get into his pants. Apparently, when a guy does that it is considered abhorrent and when a woman does it the guy has to pay child support for 18 years after.
 
I don't think the main character should be a rapist, but I don't mind rape itself being the game, as long as you have the option of killing the rat-sucking son of a bitch (bonus points if you get the reference).

Then again, I am strongly opposed to rape, and would support any draconian punishments.
Cook Cook, for example, has a 100% chance of dying in New Vegas when I'm involved.

Now, what I don't mind at all is child killing.
Especially since Bethesda always seems to make their children as annoying as humanly possible.

Folks seem to forget about such thing as a role playing. This was supposed to be a role-playing game, after all. Not a book teaching you morals (as opposed to what Bethesda and some people with registration date after Fallout 3 release think). A really good RPG gives you an option to play a total psycho, violent, etc. It's not your moral choices - it's your character's moral choices.

Now, what I don't mind at all is child killing.
Especially since Bethesda always seems to make their children as annoying as humanly possible.

I believe the term is "Chaotic Neutral" :P
And don't tell me you didn't want to punch those brats at little lamplight...or any given child in Skyrim.

Though really, I only ever killed 1 kid. It was in Fallout 2, and it was one of those children in the Den who steals all of your money. I did try to steal it back...didn't go well.

You are right about role playing though. A player who wants to be a complete bastard should be able to play as a complete bastard.
I personally would avoid rape, but I respect anyone who decides to make their character commit it (figuratively speaking...please don't take it out of context.)
 
The one place you figure Kilus would post yet he does not.


Any Fallout game with rape should allow the groin shot.
