Troika gone belly up?

Time to pop the champagne Exitium.

Well it seems he understands now he was being too rough at the time of the newsbit, i don`t think he will pop the champagne bottle now.

Still that was some lousy timing to write what he did, i agree.

Hope you get a new job fast, keep us posted on that.

I have no doubt in my mind that the Talented members of Troika will be able to find work, if Troika does go belly up.

BUT... I don't want Troika to go belly up!

The beauty of Troika was that they had freedom. They could be creative and do things their way.

I don't want the genius minds at Troika to have to join a Management-Runned Game Developer. Forced to conform to the current gaming bullshit, just so they can put food on the table...

But I won't disrespect them, if thats what they have to do.

People gotta eat.

maybe its just that fallout is a sort of curse, that you cant escape, they made two good games, and thats all they get, mwhahaha

What about their PA game, then?
Another post apocalyptic cRPG left unfinished?

:(

Calling it unfinished would be an overstatement, they never even started, as far as I understand. The only made the tech demo and were in touch with a few publishers. With out a publishers, I doubt they even got past concept art.

Dudes, I can't believe you're arguing idly about abortion a few forums down the board, when here an unborn life may have been extinguished...

I mean, this could have actually been a PA RPG game by Troika...

Leon and Co,

Here's to making good games that RPG'ers enjoyed.

I loved Arcanum, and appreciate the work you've done.

Hopefully this is all a bad dream we'll wake up from.

hopefully, i'll wake up tomorrow and find out that it was but a bad dream.

if not, well... i think i'm gonna have to buy a new box of cleenex...

while Troika was far from making flawless games, they did make some of the most enjoyable RPGs out there. respect!

The curse of Interplay (also known as Intercurse) seems to have rubbed off on Troika. These developments, though far from unexpected, are saddening.

You intend to masturbate to Troika's demise? What kind of a sicko are you?

Just to let the Troika guys know. You guys changed me from a shit-eating, action junkie into an RPG obssess. You guys did an excellent job and that if you have earned nothing else, let it be know your games gave me many happy moments (that I will share with my future kin). In Hal Moore's words, if you boys didn't earn gratitude from no one, you will always have mine. It is a sad state of affairs that shiny shit gets praise and quality products are like gourmet food only without the hefty price tag that gourmet food has. Alas, if some independently wealthy party would choose to develop our game.

Actually *if* this is true, then it would be an ideal time for Bethesda to capture some of the industy's best talents, not to rain on Bethesda's parade (since they probably have alot of talented people too).

Buying Troika or hiring their people would bring alot to Fallout 3 and us, not to mention some of the fines RPG makers in the business.

Then again, I do not hope this is true.

Would Cain and Co. be willing to work on a crappy FPS RT FO3? I sure hope not. I've been pretty critical of Troika; but they wouldn't stoop to that would they?

As for the actual news, I enjoyed 2 out of 3 Troika games even Bl despite major faults; and recognized the solid combat system of TOEE; but still when all is said and done the responsibility ofr Troika's possible fialure is Troika. And, their successes.

I won't forget the stuff they did that i enjoyed; but I won't be mourning the loss either.

I saw Leonx online a few hours ago, and he didn't even post a reply to this thread :/

I didn`t knew NMA allowed trolls in here. Maybe it`s time to take measures before things get nasty. You know what i mean.

I apologize for having a different opinion.

Well we don't know for sure that Bethesda will make a FPS RT Fo3, I'm just saying that it would be an ideal time.

Do I believe Troika would love to work on Fallout 3, hell yes they even tried to get the license. So it makes perfect sense for them to want to work on it, unless the pain of losing the license is still sore.

True, it is possible. I just hope that if the Troikians go that way that they try to get FO3 made as closely to how FO 'should' be.

Then again, when it comes to Bethesda, I'm not exactly fair and balanced. i'm not a big fan of their games..

I hope the quality Troika devs find a company to work where they can make games that they'd like and have the way to do it without the setbacks that hurt them in games like TOEE or BL.

Can you imagine the pain and howls of rage if the Troika staff got jobs with Bioware?

Why? Maybe BioWare would then start developing half-decent games for a change.
