Tunneler threat to the Mojave.

First time out of the vault
So, I remember being slightly spooked the first time through LR by the Tunnelers, and what Ulysses had to say about them. But only on this most recent play through have I realised it might also be used as an extra reason to side with a faction you might usually not, at least in roleplay terms.

After reading a lot of thoughts and reasoning on the endings, I came around to House being a good choice for the Mojave. And to be honest, that remains against the tunnelers. The securitrons are not so easily destroyed by claw and fang, and are well armed to beal with large numbers of abominations. This of course applies to the Wild Card ending too.

Even the Legion, I think, might make a second best choice as long as enough soldiers were kept around. Plain numbers and discipline would help greatly, and they would likely be quick to realise the threat, due to the way they 'run' things. However, i'm not sure how well they would actually do well with their weapons of choice.

The NCR i'm on the fence about, as they are already stretched very thin, and while they might have the guns... would they leave the required manpower in the Mojave to respond to the tunneler threat. Or even recognise it in time. I can imagine many just declaring attacks exaggerated animal/deathclaw/ghoul/raider attacks.

The Brotherhood would be a good ally in this, but sadly not a tide turner, due to their small numbers. Power Armor has always proved amazingly effective against 'primitive' attacks.

I'm also wondering just how much of a threat the tunnelers really are. I'm torn between imagining them just another ever present nasty of the wasteland, and something that the Courier will eventually spend the rest of their lives fighting against, with whomever/whatever side they chose.

Maybe they can solve deathclaw problem at quarry
Just kidding. but for independent ending, it would be deadly for people of mojave except for Vegas.
Vegas would be safe thanks for securitron but other place?

It depends if the number of securitrons in the bunker was enough to spread them through the settlements without rendering them ineffectual. But yes,t hats a point I hadn't considered. Hm.

House would indeed be the only one who could organise and mobilize the Securitrons effectively. The Courier would be able to hold Vegas (at the least), and the Legion and the NCR would only be able to stop them with massive losses.

Since the safe of other settlements(Goodspring, Primm, Novac) are dependent on Courier's effort not on securitron, I guess securitrons only guards at Strip and borderline of Mojave.

I don't think they can hold the border effectively, unless they were well coordinated.

You have to secure the trade routes. Vegas alone means nothing if it's too dangerous to go there / leave.
